Ans. Tamil Nadu Open University is the first open university at Chennai located in the capital city of the state of Tamil Nadu. The main objective of the university is to provide benefits to the people who are not able to afford higher education. It has around 218 Programmes of study across various disciplines. It is also the the first University in the state to have introduced the credit – based self – learning materials in print.
