Berhampur University Ph.D: Fees 2025, Course Duration, Dates, Eligibility

Berhampur University PhD Admission 2023 is going to begin soon. For admission to PhD courses, a candidate will have to appear for URET entrance test and an interview conducted by the Staff Council of the concerned Department. The University offers PhD programs in over 16 different disciplines. The application form for research program is made available on the official website of Berhampur University. Interested candidates should send the filled-in application form to the University through Registered or Speed Post only. The general eligibility criteria to apply for PhD program is a PG degree in a relevant discipline. Berhampur University Ph.D Eligibility Criteria

A candidate must possess an M.Sc. degree in Life Science from a recognized University with a minimum of 55% marks in PG degree. The minimum marks required in qualifying examination for SC/ST candidates is 50%.

Berhampur University Ph.D Admission Process

• Selection of the candidate to M.Phil course is done on the basis of entrance test followed by an interview conducted by the university.
• At the time of the interview a candidate will have to produce the original documents before the selection Committee for verification.
• Selection of the candidate to the PhD courses is done on the basis of URET entrance test conducted by the university.

Enclosures required at the time of the interview:

1. Three recent coloured stamp size photographs.
2. T.C./College Leaving Certificate in original.
3. Conduct Certificate in original from the Head of the Institution last attended.
4. University Registration Receipt in original in case of students of Berhampur University.
5. Migration Certificate in case of students of Universities other than Berhampur University.
6. Relieve Order in original from the Employer for one year, if he/she is employed.
7. A self-addressed envelope of size 22 × 10 cm affixed with postage stamps worth Rs.30/- (Rupees thirty only).
8. A Bank Draft for the stipulated amount as mentioned in the intimation letter drawn on State Bank of India (Bhanja Bihar Branch, Code: 2107) payable to the Comptroller of finance, Berhampur university.
9. Certificate from a recognized Medical Practitioner indicating Blood Group of the applicant.
10. Duly filled in prescribed Affidavits (Annexure – I & II) in non-judicial stamp paper in original are to be submitted in case you are admitted.

Berhampur University M.Phil & Ph.D Application Process

The application form for admission to the M.Phil. and PhD program can be downloaded from the University website. Candidates can register themselves to the M.Phil course by submitting the fee of Rs. 1000/- (INR 1100 for Ph.D course) through DD only towards processing and entrance test fee, drawn in favour of the Head of the Department concerned for which admission is sought/Director, WSRC in case of M.Phil in Womens’ Studies, and payable at the SBI, Bhanja Bihar Berhampur-760007. Candidates have to send the filled in application form along with all the documents to the head of the concerned department. In case of M.Phil in women studies the form will be sent to the Director Women’s Studies Research Centre. The forms must be sent via Speed Post or Registered Post. Forms will not be accepted if submitted in person. 

Enclosures:

1. Certificates and Mark Sheets of all examinations from H.S.C. to Master’s Degree.
2. Certificate of teaching experience, if any.
3. Copies of publications, if any.
4. Conduct Certificate from the institution last attended.
5. No objection certificate from the employer, if employed.
6. Certificate in support of his/her claim against reserved quota (SC and ST) issued by competent Revenue Authority.
7. Two self addressed envelopes of size 22 × 10 cm each affixed with postage stamps worth Rs. 25/- (rupees twenty-five) only.
8. Original Bank Draft/Banker’s Cheque drawn in favour of Head of the Department (for which admission is sought)/Director, WSRC towards processing and entrance test fee.

Berhampur University Ph.D Reservation

• 13% seats are reserved for the candidates who belong to ST category and 9.5% seats are reserved for the candidates who belong to SC category.
• 15% supernumerary seats are reserved for the foreign candidates.
