NEHU M.Sc: Fees 2025, Course Duration, Dates, Eligibility

NEHU Shillong M.Sc. Admission 2023 is ongoing. The provisional selection list for various M.Sc courses has been released. Candidates who applied for admission can check and download the merit list through the official website @nehu.ac.in. NEHU Shillong M.Sc. Eligibility Criteria

The University offers M.Sc. in the following courses:

To seek admission in the M.Sc. program, candidates must have 3-year Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject or its equivalent. The course-wise eligibility is given below:

• M.Sc. in Anthropology- Candidate with major in Anthropology, Geography, Sociology, Zoology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Home Science and Mass Communication are eligible to apply.
• M.Sc. in Statistics- Graduate with Statistics (Major) and Mathematics as a pass subject, graduate with Mathematics (Major) and Statistics as a pass subject or B.A./B.Sc. with Mathematics and Statistics as pass subjects. In addition, students with P.G. Diploma in Statistics of NEHU may also apply if they have Mathematics as Majors or Pass subject.
• M.Sc. in Environmental Science- Candidates with a Bachelor’s degree (Majors) in Environmental Science /Botany /Zoology /Chemistry / Biotechnology /Biochemistry /Geography /Geology/Forestry are eligible to apply.
• M.Sc. in Botany/Plant Molecular Biology- B.Sc.(Majors) Botany/Biotechnology/Biochemistry/Microbiology/Chemistry (with Botany/Zoology/Chemistry/Biochemistry as one of the papers).
• M.Sc. in Biotechnology– Candidates with a B.Sc. degree in Biotechnology are eligible to apply.

NEHU Shillong M.Sc. Selection Process

Admission will be based on the candidate's performance in the CUET PG conducted by NTA.

• After the declaration of the CUET PG result, qualifying candidates will proceed for the Group Discussion.
• Those who will qualify GD round will appear in the final stage of selection- Interview.
• Shortlisted candidates will be considered for admission.

Application Procedure

The candidates can apply for admission through the university’s official website. Students are required to visit the website and fill the application form.

Candidates have to pay an application fee of INR. 500/- at the time online form submission. Candidates belonging to the reserved category must pay the application fees of INR. 250/-  

The fees can be paid online via Debit/Credit Card or Net Banking or through the payment gateway.

Steps to Apply:

1. Visit the official website of NEHU Shillong.
2. Click on the Online Application Portal.
3. Register by filling the required details such as Name, Gender, Date of Birth and Email Id.
4. Proceed to fill the application form.
5. Enter the information with careful scrutiny.
6. Pay the application fees of INR. 500/- (INR 250/- for SC/ ST).
7. Upload all the required documents.
8. Verify all the information and click on the submit button.

The candidates are advised to print multiple copies of the application for future reference.

Note: Students are requested to provide their Bachelor’s degree marks in percentage (instead of CGPA) in the application form.

• Reserved for SC/ST: 50%
• Foreign Students: 10%
