IIT Bombay MDP Program Highlights
- As per IIT Bombay, the Master in Development Practice Program will be offered to students under its Centre for Technology Alternatives for Rural Areas (CTARA).

IIT Bombay MDP Eligibility Criteria
The Eligibility Criteria for IIT Bombay MDP Program are as follows:
- A Bachelor’s degree (minimum 4-year program) in fields of engineering, technology, planning, or architecture.
- A 5-year master’s degree in physical sciences from a university recognized by UGC.
- CTARA will require the applicants to submit certificates of work experience for a period of total cumulative 24 (twenty-four) months in field-based activities of the development sector issued by a competent authority of a registered development organization.
- The organization should be formally registered under relevant laws such as the Societies Registration Act, Charitable Trust Registration Act, or Companies Act.

Ans. The program is open for Sponsored Candidates also any candidates can apply for this program if they meet the minimum eligibility Criteria for the Program set up by the Institute.
Ques. Does the Institute provide any Financial support to the Candidates under this Program?
Ans. Ans. IITB will not provide any financial support or hostel accommodation to students registered for the program. The students will also not be eligible for the regular placement program of IIT Bombay. However, a few fellowships may be available for deserving candidates to cover a part of the program fees.
Ques. What is the Duration of the Program?
Ans. The duration of this full-time program is about one year and will be conducted primarily in the online interactive mode with some in-person modules. The program is designed especially for persons who have a total cumulative work experience of at least 24 months in field-based activities in the development sector.
Ques. What are the total fee and the strength of the IIT Bombay MDP Program?
Ans. The fee for the entire program is Rupees 3,00,000/- to be paid in two installments at the beginning of each of the two semesters. In the initial year, the class size could be small (about 15). It will gradually be increased to about 25 to 30 in the subsequent 3 to 4 years.
