IIT Indore MS(Res) Admission 2023: Dates, Eligibility, Fees, Placements, Syllabus

IIT Indore is Accepting Applications for Admission to MS(Master of Science) by Research for the year 2023. IIT Indore offers MS by Research whereby Indian, as well as International Candidates, can apply. For International Candidates the Institute will hold an Interview for shortlisted Candidates.

IIT Indore MS Research Eligibility Criteria

The Minimum Eligibility Criteria for IIT Indore MS Research Program are as follows:

• Must have completed a 4 year or Masters degree such as MSc, MA, etc or 5 year integrated course with first division.   
• A Minimum CPI of 6.0 on a 10-point scale or 60% of marks or First Class in B.E/B.Tech/M.Sc or equivalent in any discipline along with a valid GATE score or NET(JRF)/INSPIRE qualified.
• B Tech degrees in relevant discipline from an IIT with a minimum CPI of 8.0 or above in which case a GATE score is not mandatory.
• The CPI/Marks criteria will be relaxed by 0.5 CPI (or 5% marks) for SC/ST/PwD candidates.
• For Regular category candidates, valid GATE score/NET-JRF in the relevant discipline.
• For Industry-sponsored candidates, a valid GATE score is not required.

Note: Valid score of GRE/TOEFL/ IELTS or equivalent, a statement of purpose, letters of recommendation, and an interview (in person or over video conference) for International Candidates only.

• Register on COAP 2023 portal]
• Apply online through the Institute's Website
• Pay the application fee of INR 800/- (non-refundable) at the time of Applying at the Institute’s official Website.
• Fill out the online application form.
• Click Submit Option

NOTE: The application fee for International Candidates is 30$

• Printout of the online filled application form with a photo attached and signed
• Degree certificate/ Final mark sheet/ Master Grade sheet, supporting MEQ
• Valid GATE scorecard 
• Proof of date of birth

IIT Indore MS Research Admission Category

IIT Indore offers the admission Category to Students under M.S Research Program.

• TA: Teaching Assistantship (TA) category as Full-Time student.
• SW: Sponsored by a reputed Industry or R&D Organization with a minimum work experience of two years.
• DF: Applicants from the Defence Forces are eligible for admission to the MS Research program at IIT Indore.
• IS: Regular staff members of IIT Indore on a Part-Time basis are Eligible under this Category.

General Instruction for Applying to M.S Research Program at IIT Indore

• After successful completion of registration at COAP 2023, an applicant will be able to access information on his/her offers made (if any) from the participating Institutes during the time windows to be announced on the COAP 2023 portal.
• The applicants will be short-listed according to their GATE score. IIT graduates having CPI equal to or more than 8.0 are exempted from GATE qualification. The shortlisting of such applicants will be done based on their CPI
• Among the short-listed applicants, those who are selected through COAP 2023 will be offered in the respective PG program and in the respective category (as mentioned at the time of application) strictly in the order of merit.
