DAVV Ph.D. Eligibility Criteria
- A candidate for the Ph.D. degree must have passed a master's degree or equivalent in the concerned subject from a recognized university with at least 55 % marks for general category students as per the norms decided by UGC.
- 5% relaxation of marks is given to the students who belong to SC/ ST/ OBC (non-creamy layer) categories.
- The students must have passed the common entrance test conducted by the university namely DAVV-DET.
- The students who have qualified the UGC-NET with JRF/ UGC-CSIR-NET with JRF/ a teacher fellowship holder or any other government/ foreign research fellowship holder/ have passed the M.Phil program are exempted from appearing for the entrance test.
- However all the students have to compulsory appear for the interview round.

DAVV Ph.D. Admission
The application process for registering for the DET examination is conducted in online mode.
- One has to visit the official website of the institute and has to click on the Admissions tab from the top menu and choose DET 2023.
- Register yourself by fulfilling the basic details and generate the application number and password.
- Fill the application form by providing the information regarding academics, personal details, contact details and the program one want to choose.
- Enter the category details for the reservation criteria.
- Upload the necessary documents and submit them.
- Pay the application fees of INR 1000 through online payment or DD.
DAVV Ph.D. Selection Criteria
- The selection for the applicants in the Ph.D. course is based on two factors namely entrance test and interview.
- Candidates based on the respective eligibility criteria are allowed to appear for the Doctoral entrance test (DET). The university conducts a separate examination for each subject.
- The candidates who passed the entrance test have to appear for the interview conducted by the Research Advisory Committee.
- The students will be finally selected based on the cut-off decided by the RAC in the interview.
- The candidates need to discuss their research iteratively through a presentation.

DAVV Ph.D. FAQs
Ques. What is the exam pattern of the DET for getting admission in the DAVV PhD course?
Ans. The doctoral entrance test will be conducted in the offline mode at various approved centers of DAVV. The test will consist of 2 parts namely part A and part B.Part A shall consist of 50 compulsory objective questions of 1 mark each based on research methodology. Part B shall also consist of 50 objective type compulsory questions each of 1 mark based on the subject of research. The duration of the test will be 2 hours and there will be no negative marking.
Each student has to pass the examination with a minimum of 50% marks (45% marks for SC/ ST/ OBC) to qualify for the interview.
Ques. What are the steps that have to be followed by the candidate at the time of the DAVV PhD admission?
Ans. One has to bring the duly filled application form along with the prescribed proof and mode of application fees and self-attested copies of all the required documents such as necessary mark sheets, category certificate, photographs, photo ID, etc as per the prescribed information, for DAVV PhD admission.

Ques. What are the minimum attendance days required to submit the DAVV Ph.D. thesis?
Ans. The candidate has to put in at least 200 days of attendance after the completion of the course work in DAVV. The candidate is permitted to submit the thesis, not before three years and not later than 6 years from the date of registration. Registration will automatically cancel in case of failure of submitting the thesis. The women and PWD candidates may be allowed a relaxation of 2 years for Ph.D.
