IIT (ISM) Dhanbad offers an array of scholarships and awards for its students to support them financially and lessen their expenditure. However, there are certain requirements for each scholarship at IIT Palakkad. Some of the popular scholarship schemes offered by the institute are mentioned below. 

Merit Cum Means Scholarship:

  • No. of Scholarships: 25% of the students admitted.
  • Award: Exemption from the payment of tuition fees along with a pocket allowance of INR 800 per month.
  • Eligibility: The annual family income should not exceed INR 6 lakhs per annum.

Merit Cum Means Freeship:

  • No. of Scholarships: 10% of the students admitted.
  • Eligibility: A minimum of 60% marks is required for the students of the 1st year in the qualifying examinations and for renewal of scholarship a GPA of 6.00 in the previous 2 semesters is required.

Budhwanti Mrig Memorial Educational Scholarship (For girl students):

  • No. of Scholarships: 10% of the students admitted.
  • Award: INR 4000 per month.
  • Eligibility: A minimum of 60% marks is required for the students of the 1st year in the qualifying examinations and for renewal of scholarship a GPA of 6.00 in the previous 2 semesters is required.

ISM North American Alumni Scholarship for Mineral \ Earth Science:

  • No. of Beneficiaries: 1
  • No. of Scholarships: 10% of the students admitted.
  • Award: INR 4000 per month.
  • Eligibility: A minimum of 60% marks is required for the students of the 1st year in the qualifying examinations and for renewal of scholarship a GPA of 6.00 in the previous 2 semesters is required.

Atlas Copco Scholarship:

  • No. of Beneficiaries: 1
  • No. of Scholarships: 1
  • Award: INR 3000 per month.
  • Eligibility: Final year meritorious student of B.Tech in Mining Engineering and the annual family income not exceeding INR 3 lakhs.

Inderjeet and Satyawati Badhwar Scholarship:

  • No. of Beneficiaries: 1
  • No. of Scholarships: 1
  • Award: INR 1000 per month for the consecutive 10 months only.
  • Eligibility: Final year student of B.Tech in any Engineering discipline having highest grades along with the annual family income that was not liable to income tax assessment.

S.L. Sehgal Memorial Scholarship:

  • No. of Beneficiaries: 1
  • No. of Scholarships: 1
  • Award: INR 1000 per month for the consecutive 10 months only.
  • Eligibility: Final year student of B.Tech in any Engineering discipline having highest grades along with the annual family income that was not liable to income tax assessment.

V.M. Salgaocar Memorial Scholarship:

  • No. of Scholarships: 1
  • Award: INR 1000 per month for the consecutive 10 months only.
  • Eligibility: 10th best student of 4th year of the B.Tech (M.E.) program and the annual family income not exceeding INR 2.4 lakhs.

Savitri Sethi Memorial Scholarship:

  • No. of Scholarships: 1
  • Award: INR 500 per month for the consecutive 10 months only.
  • Eligibility: Up to 10th best student of 4th year of the B.Tech program and the annual family income not exceeding INR 75,000.

ISS Scholarship:

  • No. of Scholarships: 1
  • Award: INR 1500 per month for the consecutive 10 months only.
  • Eligibility: Up to 10th best students of final year B.Tech/ M.Sc./M.Tech/MBA along with a minimum GPA of 7.00. Also, the student should have active participation in the ISS Games, Sports, Athletics, Yoga, NSS, NCC, cultural events etc.

OP Jindal Engineering and Management Scholarship:

  • No. of Beneficiaries: 4
  • No. of Scholarships: 4 (one each student from 1st to 4th year of B.Tech program) and 1 in MBA.
  • Award: INR 65,000 per annum per student for Engineering and INR 1,25,000 per annum per student for Management.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions:

Fees is comparatively less than other engineering colleges in India it is around 1.3 lacs. I guess for the open category and even less for the students who have scholarship and some sort of categories like obc or sc st.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions:

I found that the cost the government spends per person for the study is very high and the quality and equipment are also very advanced. The college provides financial assistance for people who can't pay the fees and gives a fee waiver of 100% or 66%.

Fees structure is divided into blocks depending on family income.(Can check on official website as it changes each year) One can avail fee waivers, MCM scholarship, and other aids by submitting valid certificates and documents like income certificates. Internships and placement record of the institute is pretty much satisfactory and appealing.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions:

The fee structure is divided into 3 parts:- Tuition fees, Hostel fees, and Mess fees. The total of it comes to around 132500 rs. Reserved Categories get some benefit as SC/ST candidates have no tuition fees. The college has its bank branch which gives student loan at a low interest rate and there is a career development centre inside the campus which assists in our future endeavours and college have placement rounds so there are quite good chances for jobs.

The fee structure is based on category. There are many scholarship opportunities through college. The campus provides job opportunities to the students. The fee is 54000 according to my category OBC. MCM scholarship is provided by the college.
