PDEU, Gandhinagar (Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University, Gandhinagar) offers M.Tech program of 2 years in 12 specializations like Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Civil Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Nuclear Science and Engineering, Energy Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering and Material Science and Engineering.
- The course contains a total of 4 semesters, 2 each year.

PDEU M.Tech Admission Guidelines
Admissions to the M.Tech program at PDEU is based on the merit obtained in the GATE Examinations as well as the performance score obtained in the personal interview. The admission process is divided into 2 phases: Phase1- Only for candidates having Qualified and valid GATE Score and Phase 2- only for GATE /Non-GATE candidates.
The steps required for applying for the M.Tech program at PDEU are as follows:

- Fill the form with important details like name, state, city, contact number, email id, institute applying for among others.
- Payment of the application fee of INR 500 for each branch.
- Click submit and print the application form for future need.
Selection Criteria
For Phase - I candidates
- Suitable only for the candidates having qualified and valid GATE score
- Admission is offered based on the merit obtained in the GATE examinations.
- The seats that are left after completing admissions of this Phase will be transferred to the seats for Phase II admissions.
- The candidates who were not offered the admission during this Phase their application will be considered for the Phase II admission process
- All GATE qualified candidates have to mandatorily upload the GATE Score Card as a part of the online application process.
- If a candidate wants to apply for more than one branch, he has to appear in a Personal Interview for all the respective branches separately.
For B. Phase - II
- Suitable for GATE /Non-GATE candidates
- A single merit list will be prepared on the performance score obtained in Personal Interview by the candidate.and 50% weightage of GATE score which is only applicable to GATE qualified candidates.

Ques. What is the hostel and mess fees for PDEU M.Tech students?
Ans. The students need to pay hostel fees of INR 85,000 per annum along with a deposit of INR 5,000. The mess charge for hostelers is INR 44,000 per year, while for day scholars it is INR 29,000 per year.
Ques. Can the admission be cancelled at PDEU M.Tech program by the student after getting selected for the course?
Ans. The candidate can apply for cancellation of his/her admission through email/in-person. The fees paid shall be refunded after deduction of INR 1000 as administrative charges. This is possible only if such a vacated seat gets filled up latest by the start of the semester. However, no refund shall be made after the commencement of the first semester.
Ques. Is there any financial assistance provided for M.Tech candidates at PDEU?
Ans. The university provides a total of INR 12,400 per month for those candidates who have qualified and have a valid GATE score, admitted in Phase I only. Candidates admitted under Phase-II Non-GATE category admission process id provided INR 8,000 per month by the university.
