Goa University North Goa Ph.D Philosophy: Fees 2025, Course Duration, Dates, Eligibility

Candidates must apply for admission through online registration process and submit completed applications before January 4, 2015. All fields in the application form should be correctly and completely filled-in with the relevant information.

Candidate should log on to the university website and follow the given steps:

1. In the “Admissions” section, click on “Online Application” Link
2. Click on “Apply Now” button and fill the application form
3. Candidates should fill up all the required information correctly and ensure online submission of the form, by clicking the Submit button.
4. The Reference Number is generated while applying online. Candidate should preserved the reference number till the completion of the admission process.

Note: An email will be sent to the candidates email id with a verification link which should be clicked for confirmation. Unless confirmed, the application form submitted by the candidate will not be registered.

5. Candidate must take the printout of the completed applications and affix a photo on the it
6. The photo affixed and duly signed application along with the Demand Draft and attested copies of required documents should be submitted via speed post/in person at the following address:

Note: Candidate should mention his/her name, Reference Number (Generated while applying online) and the Programme/s name applied for on the reverse side of the Demand Draft.

Enclosures:

The candidate should enclose following attested copies along with the application form and bring original of the same at the time admission to confirm eligibility:

1. Transfer Certificate   
2. Community Certificate (For OC candidates community certificate not required)   
3. Certificates for Special categories, if required     
4. Nativity Certificate if required     
5. Graduate Certificate (marks statement of each year)
6. Master’s Certificate(marks statement of each year)

Application Fee Details:

• Application fee for general category is Rs. 500/- 
• Application fee for reserved category is Rs. 250/-
• Application fee for the candidates who are not required to appear in the entrance examination is Rs. 2000/-

Ph.D. Administrative Fees: Rs. 12,130

Goa University offers M.Phil/Ph.D courses in various disciplines at the Research level. The application process will begin in the month of December and interested candidates can apply both online and offline. Master’s degree in related discipline is the minimum eligibility for admission.

Goa University conducts its own Entrance Test followed by an interview to offer admission in M.Phil and Ph.D. courses. 

Selection Process:

Admission to Ph.D program is offered on the basis of Goa University – Ph.D Entrance Test (GU-PET). Candidates will be selected on the merit of entrance exam followed by Personal Interview.

Seats in Goa university will be granted as per score of JRF/M.Phil/NET/SET/GATE/GPAT examination. Vacant seats will be filled as per the merit of GU-PET. 

Note: Applicants who have qualified in the examinations like CSIR- NET/ UGC-NET/ JRF/lectureship/ SET/SLET/ GATE/ ICAR/ ICMR/ DBT/ DST-Inspire are exempted from the university-based entrance test.

Application fee for Ph.D.: Candidates have to pay INR 500 (INR 250 for reserved categories). The Application fee for the candidates who are exempted from the entrance examination is INR 2000.

Documents required at the time of Admission:

• Two recent passport size photographs
• Marks sheets of previous qualifying examination
• Birth Certificate from Competent Authority.
• Caste and Bonafide certificate (if applicable)
• Leaving/Transfer certificate from school or college last attended
• Certificate of Income in original issued by Panchayat
• Non-Migrant Caste Certificate
• Physically Handicapped Certificate (if applicable)
• OCI /PIO Card /document issued by the Competent Authority for NRI candidates.
• A certified copy of the passport or other equivalent document as proof of being an Indian Citizen
