JNTUK has two constituent colleges along with a number of private affiliated colleges and candidates seeking admission to the university courses must appear for the entrance exam conducted by JNTUK on behalf of APSCHE. This entrance exam will allow admission into various professional courses being offered in the university campus/ Private affiliated colleges in Andhra Pradesh.
- For admission to UG programs offered by the university, candidates should have passed 10+2 examination with a minimum aggregate.
- Admission to UG courses is based upon the AP-EAMCET (Engineering, Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test).
- Candidates seeking admission can fill the relevant application form through the official EAMCET website.
- In the case of PG courses, the scores of GATE are accepted for admission to the M.Tech program.
- For admission to M.Pharm. The candidates must possess a valid score in GPAT.
- Andhra Pradesh residents can apply for the PG courses via AP PGECET.
- Selection of candidates for MBA and MCA courses offered by the university is done on the basis of AP ICET, conducted by Andhra University, Visakhapatnam on behalf of APSCHE.
- Selection to the Ph.D. programs will be done on the ground of the candidate's performance in the AP RCET followed by an interview.

Every year, JNTUK admits young and bright scholars for the research work. It offers 8 Pre-Ph.D regular courses for which the necessary details (eligibility and admission process) is given below:

Admission will be done on the basis of AP RCET. Final Selection will be made by the Directorate of Admissions.
- The Entrance test shall be conducted for 180 marks.
- The Entrance Test will consist of two parts, i.e., Part-A and Part-B.
- Part-A (Teaching and Research Aptitude) for 90 marks
- Part-B shall be the subject specific for 90 marks.
- Qualified Candidates in the Entrance Test will be called for interview/viva-voce by the concerned University Department.
- The candidates will be required to discuss their research interest/area through a presentation before a duly constituted Committee.
- The Interview will be conducted for 20 marks.

Gender-Based Statistics:

- For Engineering Exam - male candidates dominated as 14,850 males appeared for AP PGECET out of which 13,938 qualified. On the other hand, 8709 females attempted the exam out of which 8171 qualified.
- For Pharma Exam - female candidates dominated in the exam. A total of 3190 females appeared for the exam out of which 2748 qualified. As for males, 2257 gave the exam, out of which 1816 qualified.

The institute has its own placement cell which annually conducts a campus placement session.
Most of the students who get recruited belong to the field of Computer Science Engineering. Followed by ECE candidates and EEE students.

Selection Process
B.Tech/B.Pharm.
- Admission to B.Tech. and B.Pharm. Courses will be granted on the basis of the candidate’s performance in the EAMCET (Engineering, Agriculture & Medical Common Entrance Test) conducted by JNTUK on behalf of APSCHE.
- The exam will be conducted online for a duration of 3 hours.
- It will constitute of 160 Questions:
- 80 in Mathematics
- 40 in Physics
- 40 in Chemistry
- Each correct answer will fetch 1 mark.
- The candidates must have completed 16 years of age as on 31st December of the year of admission.
- There is no upper age limit.
B.Arch.
- 80 in Mathematics
- 40 in Physics
- 40 in Chemistry
Admission will be granted on the basis of a valid NATA score.
Admission to M.Tech. and M.Pharm. will be granted on the basis of GATE/GPAT or PGECET.
- The exam will be conducted online.
- It will comprise of a total 120 MCQs.
- The medium of the exam will be in English.
- Candidates with valid GATE/GPAT scores do not have to appear for AP PGECET.
- Those who clear the specified cut off will have to register for the counselling process.
Counseling
- After the declaration of the results, shortlisted candidates will be called for AP PGECET Counselling.
- Candidates will be called as per their merit and scores achieved in AP PGECET and in GATE or GPAT.
- The counselling will be conducted separately for GATE or GPAT qualifiers.
- To participate in the admission procedure, candidates have to pay a stipulated fee as per their category (Gen. INR. 600/- and SC/ ST INR. 300/-).
- Counseling begins with document verification and then you can proceed for web counselling.
