31 students from the ECE department and 83 from the CSE department took part in the placements and all of them got selected.

100% was the placement rate for CSE and CSIS streams.
48% was the placement rate for CASE and 56% was the placement percentage for Bio stream.

IIIT Hyderabad offers excellent placement opportunities to its students. Year by year the placements statistics for the highest salary offered to the students are increasing continuously. Even the number of students getting placed is increasing every year.
IIIT Hyderabad MTech placements are decent but obviously not as good as BTech placements. The main reason is that UG students get to spend more time in IIIT than MTech students. So if you are an MTech student, you need to prepare well in your summer holidays and the 3rd semester to perform well in placements.

Placements for MSIT programs at IIIT Hyderabad are not that great. The placement packages and profiles offered in the placement drive do not match the skill you learn in the program. If you are choosing these programs only because of placement, it will be better to consider other options. I know a little bit about this program as I have some friends who are pursuing it.

Yes, it’s true that IIIT Hyderabad has better placements than IITs. For instance, IIIT Hhyderabad's average package for 2022 stood at INR 32 LPA whereas the top IIT Bombay average package stood at INR 23.26 LPA. Apart from the top IITs, most of the IITs have the highest package INR 40–60 LPA.

The placement scenario of IIIT Hyderabad is highly comparable to top IITs and here even the average students get placed with great packages. So, ultimately, it’s up to you which one to go for IIT or IIIT Hyderabad.
Every company has its own way of breaking down the CTC components. So, CTC and in hand salary aren’t directly correlated.
For example, Microsoft offers a CTC of 44 LPA but the base salary is somewhere around 13-14 LPA. Codenation, on the other hand, offers 33.5 LPA with a base salary of 25+ LPA.
This doesn’t mean that Microsoft isn’t paying what it offered. Brands like Microsoft, Google, etc. offer lots of perks and employee benefits. These are included in the CTC. On the other hand, startups offer more cash and lesser perks.

Firstly, your mode and time of admission do not affect your placement opportunities at all. That being said, IIIT Hyderabad has an excellent placement scenario that is increasing every year.

Try considering other major parameters too like culture, research, other career options, further study, alumni, faculty, students, extra-curricular, etc
Coders at IIIT Hyderabad are experts in their field which is why IT giants like Apple are choosing its campus for placements over well known IITs and NITs.
At IIIT Hyderabad, CSE/ECE students study topics specific to their course since the 1st semester itself. In IITs and NITs, however, CSE/ECE students start focusing on their particular field from the 2nd year. First year students remain busy with Chemistry, Engineering drawing, etc. which are of no use in their branch.
