IIT Hyderabad Scholarship

Students of IIT Hyderabad can avail the facility of scholarships among a variety of institutes, governmental or private scholarship schemes. But for every scholarship, a student is required to successfully match the basic requirements for the scholarships. Also, a student can receive only one scholarship under any of the schemes by institute/-Gov/ Private scholarships. Some of the popular scholarships of IIT Hyderabad are mentioned below along with their details.

Merit Cum Means Scholarship:

The Merit Cum Means Scholarship is offered by the institute and is available for only 25% of the students admitted and belonging from the Gen/OBC-NCL/EWS categories.
The Parental income for all students in any category should not exceed INR 4.5 lakhs.
The student should secure a minimum CGPA of 7.0 or above with no active backlogs.
Also, the selected students will be eligible for a Pocket allowance of INR 1000 per month.

SC/ST Scholarship:

The SC/ST Scholarship is offered to the students of SC/ST categories enrolled in the UG Programs offered by IIT Hyderabad.
The annual parental income of the students from all the sources should not exceed INR 4.5 lakhs.
The student should secure a minimum CGPA of 7.0 or above with no active backlogs.
The selected candidates will be eligible for the monthly pocket allowance of INR 250 and also the refund of License Fee and Dining Charges at actuals and as per the eligibility.

Other Scholarships:

Apart from the Scholarships offered by the Institute, IIT Hyderabad also gives several scholarship schemes offered by various States & Central Governments. These scholarships can be availed by visiting the National Scholarship Portal and also, the students can check the NSP for detailed information for each scholarship. My college fee includes a tuition fee of 1 Lakh Mess and the hostel charges upto 41000 per semester another fee may include student insurance of 3500 per year Financial assistance is given as an institute scholarship named Merit-Cum-Scholarship for GEN, GEN-EWS and OBC categories and SC-ST scholarship for SC/ST student MCS is given to selected student (top 25% of the class strength ). There is no upper limit for the SC-ST scholarship. For both scholarships, parental income should be less than 3.5 lakhs per year. In MCS student is given 1000/- per month and in the SC-ST scholarship student is given 250/- per year and some relaxation in a hostel and mess charges For all students whose parents' income is less than full tuition fee remission is given and for students whose parental income is less than 5LPA and greater than 1LPA 2/3 tuition fee remission is given.

There is no hike in the fees it is always the same and fixed. The cost of the study is affordable and average. There are lot many scholarships available but unfortunately, I m not eligible for any of those we have great opportunities available.

As I belong to the st category my every sem fee is around 40K-50K and the fee is paid for every semester before the deadline. Category students can get scholarships from National Scholarship Portal (NSP) which should be applied in 1st year and renewed every year.

Compared to other IITs, the semester fee of IIT Hyderabad is 1.5 lakhs which are little high. There is no fee hike policy here. Based on your parental income category, you do have scholarships like tuition fee waiver in which you just have to pay hostel and mess charges, (only for SC/ST). Then there is also a scholarship in which if you get above a certain CGPA (around 8.5), you get around 1000 per month.

IIT Hyderabad - A stone that can become a gem

Total fees per year is 3 lacs (including tution, mess, hostel, etc) and it's a bit higher that other some of the IITs but the facilities are all top notch so it's worth it. I didn't get any scholarship but there are quite a bit available for financially weaker students.

The fees are a little bit costly as compared to other colleges but it's not painful for us because IIT HYDERABAD is one of the best engineering colleges in terms of faculty and placements so it is worth it. The fee for one semester is 100000 and the one-year fee is Rs. 200000 but we can easily recover the money spent on our studies with the help of placements provided by IIT college. The scholarship is available based on merit and financial need through schemes like institute, merit-cum - means scholarships, institute-free studentship, institute national, and SC/ST scholarships. Also, this college will help you to get the benefits of the scholarship provided by your local state government, you have to just fill out and submit the scholarship form to your college.
