The MA in Public Policy gives dynamic, high-level training in the study of public policy and policymaking at international, national, and sub-state levels.
Students will receive a solid grounding in key theoretical approaches to the study of public policy, and significantly develop their knowledge and skills around the subject.
This course concentrates on the skills required to work across the public policy landscape, which is today increasingly characterized by change and interdependence.
Students will study three compulsory 20-credit international relations modules, and a further three optional modules before taking a 60-credit dissertation project in the second part of the course.
The three compulsory modules are conceptual issues in the theory and practice of social sciences, the policy-making process, and comparative governance in complex systems.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement

Academic Eligibility:

The typical entry requirement is a degree in any background, normally a 2:2 with a minimum of 55% overall.
Applicants who are non-native English speakers must achieve 6.5 overall in IELTS or equivalent

Applicants from non-European countries who seek an international degree at Swansea University require a student visa. Once the student is accepted by the university, he /she should apply for a ‘short-term study visa (for a duration of fewer than 6 months)’ or ‘Tier-4 (General) student visa’.
