The university is uniquely placed at a 320 acres campus, located in Norwich, Norfolk, United Kingdom, just two miles from the centre of Norwich, England’s first UNESCO City of Literature.

Residence Facilities 

University of East Anglia offers its students more than 20 options for on-campus accommodation ranging from single, double, suite-type, etc.

Programs offered at University of East Anglia

University of East Anglia offers programs for more than 250 undergraduate degrees in BA, BSc, BEng and MChem and over 250 PG courses and a range of PHDs and studentships to choose from.

  • UEA provides these courses across four faculties of Arts and Humanities, Medicine and Health Sciences, Science and Social Sciences. UEA offers pre-university programmes to international students through INTO University of East Anglia and 26 schools under its operation.
  • More than 82% of the UEA research is rated as world leading or internationally excellent by the UK Government Research Excellence Framework (REF) in 2014.
  • UEA is known for initiating the first creative writing course in the UK and for its cutting-edge environmental science research.

Application Process

International students must be careful while applying for admission to University of East Anglia University and make sure that they comply with all the general and course specific requirements.

Application Fee: 20 GBP if applying for single course and 25 GBP for multiple courses

Application Deadlines: 31 July, for September 2023 entry

  • Evidence of English proficiency (exemption to students receiving 70% or higher in English in 12th standard in India)

After getting successfully placed at UEA, students are required to make a deposit of 2,000 GBP to secure their admission and accommodation and thereby be eligible to receive CAS to apply for Tier 4 visa.

Financial Aid for International Students

Different kinds of country specific scholarships are available to Indian students based on the level of study as well as international student scholarships. These are as follows:

  • India Undergraduate Scholarship (4,000 GBP to students with course fee of 15,900 GBP; 6,000 GBP to students enrolled in a course with fee of 20,200 GBP)
  • India Postgraduate Scholarship (4,000 GBP to students meeting university requirements and 5,000 GBP to students with 65% or higher)
  • British Council Great Scholarship (15,000 GBP to one Indian student)

    If you have taken the WASSCE and are looking to apply to UEA, you may need to provide additional evidence of your English language proficiency. The university accepts a variety of English language proficiency tests, including IELTS, TOEFL, PTE Academic, DET, etc. Please visit the English Language Requirements page on the university’s website to know the exact requirement for the program you are interested in.

    Yes, University of East Anglia offers scholarships to international students. The requirements for the scholarship programs differ from one another but they are primarily awarded based on academic merit. If you have competed your bachelor’s degree in third class, your chances for getting admission is low.
