Visa Process for International Students

Applicants from non-European countries who seek an international degree at Swansea University require a student visa. Once the student is accepted by the university, he /she should apply for a ‘short-term study visa (for duration of less than 6 months)’ or ‘UK (General) student visa’.

Application needs to be made through the UK Embassy or UK High Commission at their place of permanent residence. One must apply for a visa 3 months prior to the commencement of the course.

An applicant needs to pay the visa application fee before applying for a student visa and submit the following documents:

Q1. How do I enroll at Swansea University?

A1. All students will be required to enroll online from Monday 14th September 2020. Please refer to the enrolment for new student’s section of the website for further details on the enrolment process.

Q3. When will I get my student email account?

A3. Once you have registered and enrolled your student email account will be automatically set up for you, your email address will be your student number followed by @swansea.ac.uk. For example, 1234567@swansea.ac.uk

Q4. How do I get my ID card?

A4. Student ID cards will be available in September once you have enrolled online and arrived in Swansea.

If you are staying on campus, you will be issued with your ID card when you collect your keys.
