Remarks :
I took JEE mains and advanced. I qualified for both and participated in JOSAA counseling. In accordance with my preferences, I got Chemical engineering at IIT JAMMU. I didn't get the benefits of a reservation. The cutoff was about AIR 16-17k in JEE advance.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The courses offered in the first semy are Quantum Physics, Materials, Calculus, and Computer Programming. The professors are quite interactive with student to faculty ratio being 40:1.Exams were on time and the Calculus exam was quite tough. All other exams were easy to pass.
Internships Opportunities :
Internships are quite well. We can pursue our interest in a field and can go deep into it. The roles and projects offered are appropriate. The highest package offered in an internship was 2 lacs last year. In chemical, internship needs some hard work but we can get the same at last.
Placement Experience :
Students become eligible after the 7th semester to sit for placements. Placements are nice since the college is newly built. The highest package offered last year was 52 lacs and Avery was 15 lacs. I want a job to fulfill the needs of my family.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The fee to be paid at the first transaction is about 2 lacs for courses. Also the mess fee is 25000. There is financial help for students good in academics or who are financially weak. The fee structure is affordable since college is government-funded.
Campus Life :
The campus is beautiful and we'll be infrastructured. Enjoying life at IIT. The annual fest is named RENAO and tech fest TECHNUCTUS. The fests were very nice and the purpose of these cultural fests is to reduce stress and some enjoyment for students.
