What's your preference? Faculty and exposure or placement?

Remarks :

First of all, for Economics Hons., you must have mathematics in your class 12. For admission to Miranda House, University of Delhi you have to give CUET. After the CUET you have to fill the counseling form of DU which is released right after the CUET result. Miranda House cutoff varies from category to category. If you are from the UR category you must have to score above 750 /800 and if you have any category certificate(SC, ST, obc, or EWS) you can get admission even at 650.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Miranda House has the best faculty for economics hons. in DU. Placements are not very good. But if your preference is faculty, experience over placement then go for Miranda House for sure. If you want to devote time to societies and all then you will have to miss the classes, so at this point faculty don't play much role. But the teaching method is so good. They complete the syllabus before every semester.

Placement Experience :

Well, campus placements are offered to every department but most of them are for the economics department. (MOSTLY! NOT ALL). The Mathematics department and BA program department also get placement for the same post. If you are targeting placements then you must have done an internship and some additional courses.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Before the fee hike policy fees were about 14,000 but now it's 14,900 for economics hons. But if we compare it with other colleges Miranda House's fees are not too much, and it's affordable. There are government scholarships available. Campus placements are not very good, but we can go for higher studies or try for off-campus placement.

Campus Life :

The Campus life is very good. Tempest is the annual fest which is helds in the fest season (December- March). Also, societies and clubs are very active in Miranda House. But which society is active or not depends on the president only. Books are available in the library. Different sports are played on the campus.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I have a keen interest in Political Science and therefore I opted for Political Science Honours The faculty of our college are well experienced and have a teaching experience of over 20 years, the student-teacher ratio is around 70:1 Most of the faculty members have graduated from the University of Delhi. The examinations are generally conducted every 3-4 months and in terms of difficulty, the questions are generally set in a manner that if a student has a basic knowledge about the topic he/she can easily write about it.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course because I want to do preparation for SAC or upsc and this course will help me with that. The faculty is quite good and they are always ready to help the students. The student ratio in this is quite large and the class for this course is filled. faculties are very highly qualified they know the way of teaching and everything. They teach very well. If we get any doubts they clear without asking questions and all. It's my first year and I haven't taken any exams yet we have 6 semesters and we have to take exams 6 times. I think it will be a little hard to pass.
