Open University and your learning

Remarks :

After completing of 12th, I was admitted to an open university directly. The application forms and fee details will be given at the study centre in the respected city, in which you are living No need for any reservation benefits, because it is an open university. No such improvement is required. But it can be made online (when I took admission it was an offline and cumbersome process which I had followed)

Course Curriculum Overview :

I am from a Humanities background so took Political science subject. The faculty-student ratio was not fixed after all it was open university. The faculties for respective subjects were well qualified and the teaching method was traditional. There was only a yearly exam and before the exam, I needed to submit assignments for my chosen subjects. The difficulty level is like any other university exam.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

There is no such discussion and updated fee information was given by the center head. There were no such provisions for scholarships, financial assistance, and any type of stipend. In an open university, there were no provisions for scholarships, financial assistance, and stipend as I got the information from the centre head

Campus Life :

There were no annual festivals, tech festivals, or any other cultural events that took place. The library was not available at the study centre only course-related books were provided. Just traditional classrooms. No sporting activities took place and classes were conducted on Sunday only. No such social groups and clubs run by students or by college

Placement Experience:

The placements cell offers jobs as well as internships. Unfortunately, I am not privy to a lot of information because I am only in 2nd year right now. Each course will have different packages offered to the students. After getting the degree I am actually planning to get a Masters's degree and Phd myself.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose Philosophy as I liked studying that. There are 4 faculty members and 18 students in my term. Teachers are really good at explaining which shows how much they've studied. Term exams are timely and passing requires adequate effort.

Placement Experience:

The training and placement cell of the college starts taking data from students right before the start of the second year. After that, they start sending opportunities for internships in their own fields and courses chosen.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Because I had an interest in economics. sufficient teachers are there, the faculty-student ratio is 1: 50. The faculties were highly qualified in their respective field, teaching method was also good. Two times college internal exam and lastly final exam held, if a student study well then one can easily pass all the examination.
