Course Curriculum Overview :
Computer Science has a high demand which will continue to exist in the upcoming years as well. That is why I chose this course. The faculty-student ratio is around 50:1. Around half of the faculties are guest faculties. The faculties are highly qualified. Many of them are PhD holders from IITs and NITs. The exams are held thrice in a semester.
Internships Opportunities :
On-campus internships are rarely provided. The roles offered are very sub-standard and students often go for off-campus internships. The Training and placement cell is new but with time the quality of internships is expected to improve in the coming years.
Placement Experience :
Students become eligible after completing their 6th semester. The companies that visit the campus are tier 2 companies like Nykaa etc. The highest package is around 54 lacs and the average package is around 16.5 lacs. Around 90 percent of the students get placed every year.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The fees here are too high. The average cost to study here would be around 16 lacs (including hostel and mess). No scholarships are provided by the college. Students have to apply separately for government and private scholarships like Reliance Foundation etc.
Campus Life :
IIIT Sonepat does not have a permanent campus. Therefore, currently, no cultural fests are organized. A sports fest however is organized in August. This year it was called Agnito 2023. The library here is very small and is only meant to issue books. There is a frequent shortage of books. Classrooms are average with only basic amenities.
Hostel Facilities :
There are four floors, two of which have attached bathrooms. There are double sharing rooms only. We are only provided with two beds and two safes for keeping our belongings. Mess food is average and the quality of the food is only decreasing day by day. The registration process for hostels is done at the time of physical reporting. The hostel fee is way too high as they demand 12,500 rupees every month.
