A underrated college

Remarks :

The Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Una's admission process typically follows a rigorous and competitive procedure. Admissions are primarily based on candidates' performance in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main, which is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). Candidates aspiring to join IIIT Una must appear for JEE Main and secure a valid score. The institute then publishes a cutoff score, and candidates meeting or surpassing this cutoff are eligible for further rounds. Shortlisted candidates are required to participate in JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority) counselling, where they can choose IIIT Una as one of their preferred institutions. Seat allotment depends on their JEE Main rank and choice filling. It's essential to meet the eligibility criteria set by IIIT Una, which typically includes a minimum percentage requirement in the 10+2 examination and specific subject prerequisites.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I am a CSE student and I choose this course because of my interest in computers and coding. Our college has a 1:15 teacher ratio , 29% PhD faulty, with good teaching and interactive methods for immersive learning.

Internships Opportunities :

The internship is provided by the placement cell of the college. The intership here are provided by tech as well as electronic-based companies. The internships are both paid as well as on a certificate basis.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The fees here are high but as the college is based on ppp(public-private partnership) model there are no recurring funds from the government. So to maintain the infrastructure and facilities the fees are a necessity

Campus Life :

College life here is a bit boring but you can entertain yourself with a fest that happens on a regular basis. There are many clubs including tech, event managing, literature, and electronics. There are superb sports facilities.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I have a keen interest in computer programming so I chose this course in this college instead of other NITs. Here the faculty-student ratio id pretty good It's approximately 15:1. All the Faculty are PHD holders. They are young and have a passion for teaching. There are 2 CT exams which constitute the mid sem and one end sem also occurs. You have to study daily. There is regular assignment and projects given to students

Students get eligible for placements in 3rd year itself. The companies visited are Amazon, fantaclaus, etc. The highest package last year was 50 lakhs (off campus) by Amazon and the mean package was 6.5 lpa. 289 students have been placed in the last 5 years which makes 86%. My plan after getting the degree is to obviously get placed in a good company with a good package.

There is an internship semester in our college dedicated to internships where students have to do 5 months of internship (compulsory) to get their hands on on fieldwork and learn from industry experts. Amazon, Deloitte and many big companies like these visit our college during the placement drive The average package of all the branches combined was 15 LPA which is quite good and is expected to improve further in the coming years. Almost 90+ per cent of students get placed.
