JUIT- the best college in the hills

Remarks :

The admission process was pretty simple. We were asked to fill the forms based on our JEE scores or our 12th board's percentage depending on whichever we were confident about..we could do both too. There is no entrance exam and the cut-off is decided based on scores submitted by the students. The JEE cut-off is low only. The application forms can be found on the college's official website itself (juit.ac.in) and students and the dates can be checked by checking the website again and again. There is an application form fee of 1000. Many kinds of reservations are provided like for students coming from army backgrounds and Kashmiri migrants. The admission process was pretty smooth so I don't think any improvements as such are needed, they just have to keep it up.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I chose the CSE core course because I have always wanted to direct my efforts into the corporate world be it finance or technology, this is what has always interested me. The faculty-student ratio is 1:30 (1 faculty for 30 students). All the teachers here are Ph.D. scholars and they do not take our studies lightly. They teach patiently and are always available for doubts. They also take our attendance seriously and there is an 80% attendance rule. We have 3 exams per semester (t1,t2, and t3) and if one has studied religiously then he or she can also pass them.

Internships Opportunities :

The companies offering internships are like Amazon and they provide a stipend in dollars which means really good around 20k to 30k from how much I could gather from students going for internships. Various projects like consultancy, managing a group project, and making an application for currency conversion were there with positive outcomes.

Placement Experience :

Students get eligible for placements in 3rd year itself. The companies visited are Amazon, fantaclaus, etc. The highest package last year was 50 lakhs (off campus) by Amazon and the mean package was 6.5 lpa. 289 students have been placed in the last 5 years which makes 86%. My plan after getting the degree is to obviously get placed in a good company with a good package.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The fees here increase every year and one can expect around 18 lakhs for the overall course including mess charges and living in the hostels. There is financial assistance provided to students from a low-income background and fees are less for students coming from an army background.

Campus Life :

The life on campus is amazing although it's rather isolated but the campus itself has many things to do. Our annual fest is Festus, which is conducted in February and our tech fest name is murious conducted in December. Our library has 5000+ books which includes research books and also books for competitive exams held after one graduates. Classrooms are equipped with numerous lights and fans. We have a basketball court, a football ground, Table tennis and 3 badminton courts. There is a huge auditorium where all the programs are held. We've got gyms that are well-equipped. Koshish club is one of the clubs that has students of our college teaching to children of nearby villages, then there is a literary club that also hosts the annual literary fest called alfaaz.

Hostel Facilities :

There are single double and triple rooms. Double rooms have 2 beds 2 almirahs 2 chairs 4 shelves and 2 tables. A heater is also provided for winter. We have great food in the mess, every day of the week we get something new and the menu is revised monthly. The food is really tasty. The hostel rate is 1,60000 per year.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I have a keen interest in computer programming so I chose this course in this college instead of other NITs. Here the faculty-student ratio id pretty good It's approximately 15:1. All the Faculty are PHD holders. They are young and have a passion for teaching. There are 2 CT exams which constitute the mid sem and one end sem also occurs. You have to study daily. There is regular assignment and projects given to students

Students are available for placement after 7th - semester. Various big companies visited the college, including Microsoft, Amazon, dalloit and Americans express. The highest package in 60 lacks and the average package in 15 lacks in the 22-23 sessions. Almost 90+% students of placement offers. My plan after my degree is to opt for IT jobs.
