Review of one of the best Institute Of India, IITH

Remarks :

Admission to this college/Course required passing of Jee Advanced (Entrance Exam), the whole process of selection of college was done by Jossa, and then the college was finalized. There is no application form, you are directly mailed by the college that you are selected and the further admission process is through mail only.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course curriculum was good but as in any college, the professors were too boring (I used to sleep at the beginning in the classes), faculty: the student ratio was around 1:12, and most of the professors were research and Ph.D. scholars.

Internships Opportunities :

there are many internship opportunities for students here, from the first year onwards. But the on-campus internships start from 3rd year, companies such as Microsoft, KLA, and Mercedes come and the stipend is around 70000 per month.

Placement Experience :

placements are good, as I talked about earlier, students can opt for placements in 4th year, and all types of companies, majorly IT which offer a package of more or equal to 7 lap are allowed to hire from the college.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

the fees are as follows: 8 lakh tuition fees for 8 semesters, and the remaining 5 lakhs for hostel, mess, medical, library, sports, etc. There are many opportunities for scholarships (by government, Institute, and NGOs, the criteria are either you are a merit student or you are from a category (SC or ST), the fees hike policy is a major issue faced by students, students are protesting against it, as Institute is taking a very high amount of fees (of many things which are not required), so government should take some majors to address this, and talking about campus jobs, for higher branch students like CS, IT, MNC, AI, Electrical placements are good and goes on decreasing in percentage and avg package with further branches, but if you study properly, you will gate a great job easily (as this is IIT) and recruiters trust institutions such as IIT, NIT, and IIT. The average stipend for placements is around 18lpa and for internships, it is around 70000 per month if you didn't get on campus.

Campus Life :

Life at campus is good, At first, we explored many things, some things we liked and some not, as we heard many positive things about IITS, the expectation vs. reality checkup is done by only one who is in the college, the annual fest is Elan and Nvision here.

Hostel Facilities :

Hostes are very good in infrastructure but there are always issues in new hostels , sometimes water problem, sometimes electricity and sometimes internet, but the rooms allotted are very good , double sharing for freshers and single from 2nd year onwards

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this to get a degree in computer science which I thought would be better for me. The course curriculum is good as of now. The faculty-and-student ratio is okay too. But all of the faculty here are contract-based I suppose but are of good knowledge. The faculty inspires students to gain knowledge and motivates them to be independent as much as possible. They train students to be disciplined and are strict in that term. The teachers are also well qualified and of a good experience. The term exams got postponed due to the weather conditions and state holidays but apart from that, every other exam is conducted timely. But I would blame the correction for the pass percentage of the students from the university, though you would find the paper to score well.

Placement Experience:

Great placement was there, but the packages were a bit less due to the recession. placement percent is around 98-99%. Many students go for higher studies, I am also thinking of doing MBA or preparing for UPSC. The highest packege this year was around 70-72 lpa.
