Remarks :
To get admission to MBBS aspirants need to qualify for NEET. After the results of counseling are declared, students need to report to the allotted College. The application form and other details are available on the WBUHS website. Reservation is provided to SC, ST, EWS, and OBC categories.
Course Curriculum Overview :
It's a 5.5-year-long course that includes 12 months of compulsory internship in the hospital associated with the college. The faculty includes the head of the department, the professor, the assistant professor, and the demonstrators. the faculty-student ratio varies from 1:10 to 1:12 depending on the department. Exams are conducted every three months and it is important to take these exams to be able to appear for the annual university exam.
Internships Opportunities :
Students need to complete a mandatory 12-month internship in the hospital attached to the college. The student works as an intern in every department for 30 days. There are 19 departments in total. A stipend of 30,000 is provided to the interns every month.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The fee is 9000 per year there is no fee hike after admission. This is a government college hence the scholarship programs are provided by the government of India and the government of West Bengal. These scholarships include financial aid for the financially weaker sections. After 4.5 years of academic courses, a paid internship is provided within the hospital which pays 30,000 a month.
Campus Life :
We have our annual cultural fest called 'LOBELIA' in the month of September every year. Apart from this the student committee also organizes the annual academic fest 'THERAPEUO', freshers for our juniors 'METAMORFOSIS'. We also have a library on the 7th floor of our academic building with sufficient books.
