Seniors of the college were available throughout the process for any kind of help during admission.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Biology was one of my favorite subjects in school. So, I thought it would be a great opportunity to study the human body thoroughly. That's why I opted for MBBS. The Faculty: Students is 1:10. All faculties are MBBS, MD. There teaching is fluent and lucid. It's very easy to communicate with them regarding doubts. Every 3 months, there is a semester conducted by the college authority. These are considered internal assessments. Pass marks are 50%, more than any undergraduate course in the country, so it's quite difficult to clear the exam. After every year, there is a Professional exam conducted by the WBUHS, which decides whether you'll proceed to the next session or not.

Internships Opportunities :

The Community Medicine department takes the students for a survey, which develops useful skills in medical occupation. After 4.5 years there's a rotatory internship in each department to complete the MBBS curriculum.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

It's a government medical college, so there's no unnecessary fee hike, only when govt. decides, the fees increase. Fees are very nominal, 4500/- per semester. There are no on-campus jobs in the medical curriculum, only an internship after 4.5 years of study. Those who satisfy scholarship criterias, get scholarship, others don't.

Campus Life :

The annual fest of R. G. Kar Medical College is LOBELIA. It's a dreamy affair with star-studded nights and concerts. It is also known as Khalparer Durgapujo, the grandest event of our college. It occurs in September few weeks before Durga Puja. There are lots of books by renowned authors in the library, and every student with a library card has access to them. Regular sports and other cultural events are occurring in our college. Pre-test and Saraswati Puja are some special occasions where competitions get tense.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose the MBBS course as I wanted to be a doctor and I have to do this course to be one. our total no. Of students is 250 and our student-to-faculty ratio is close to 30:1. The faculty members are really experienced in their own respective fields. The professional exams and semesters are a little difficult but you can pass easily by studying consistently for 3-4 hours a day. In the 5 years of MBBS, you will have 4 professional exams at the end of the year and 9 semesters.
