Remarks :
After having appeared for 12th boards (for which having taken biology is a must ) one needs to have cleared the all-India NEET exam for admission an undergrad course . The application form is available online on the national website of NMC.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I have wanted to be a doctor since I was a kid that's why I chose this course. Medical science appeals to me. The faculty-to-student ratio is 1:10. The faculties are very qualified and are experts in their respective fields of practice. Internals are conducted thrice a year and then there are professional exams conducted by the university at the end of each academic year. Small class tests and practical exams are held throughout the year. The professional exams are quite tough to pass Especially the practical ones.
Internships Opportunities :
Since it is a government medical College, one month of paid internship is compulsory for every student who has completed his/her MBBS from here. After passing the final professional exam we are supposed to serve in the hospital for one year and obviously, we are paid for that. The internship however is very hectic.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
4500 per semester is the fee structure i.e.9000 for one academic year. I got no scholarships. The curriculum includes one year of paid internship which every student of the college is supposed to do after clearing the final professional examination.
Campus Life :
My institute is a hub for academic and cultural activities. Every year we have Lobelia - the cultural fest of our college where we get to show our cultural talent. It's the best medical cultural fest in East India. Also, we have an annual academic fest that goes by the name THERAPEUO. There are various teams like a literary team, research team, debate team, etc. Every year we hold a soccer league and a cricket league. Also, sports tournaments like of table tennis and badminton take place. Every class has AC n projectors also the practical classes are conducted in small groups which gives more exposure and a greater learning experience.
Hostel Facilities :
The hostel is very very affordable. you are paying 12 rupees a month for accommodation that's a different kind of perk. There are however certain compromises like 4 people having to share one room though there is nearly enough space for everyone. There is an uninterrupted electricity supply, I don't remember an hour without electricity on my campus. Also, the hostel is very safe with security being there 24×7. Both non-veg and veg food is available but, one might not always like the taste but it's healthy. Renting a PG would be expensive on pocket and also the locality is very noisy as a lot of traffic and stuff is there.
