Remarks :
Only the top 15000 rank holders out of the 19 lakh students who took the NEET all India examinations were selected to study in our college. The application form was available on the NTA website. The Application fee was 1400 rupees and the application date was during the first week of April. The examination date was on the first week of May. No reservation was availed. The admission process was pretty good. It was an online counselling process and the alloted candidates had to visit the college on the day of the admission to get admitted.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I've always been fascinated by the medical field and it was my dream to be a doctor and serve the people. Getting into MBBS was a dream come true. The faculty-student ratio is pretty good. Each department in our college has an ample number of teachers to guide the students. For a ratio, it would be 3:25. All the faculty members are esteemed and have a medical degree. Most of them have a postgraduate degree and the senior professors and HODs have various foreign and Indian degrees in their specialized fields. The teaching method has been pretty good. The teachers use PPTs, video modules, and human models to teach us about the basic concepts in the field. There is also a self-directed learning class where students are encouraged to self-learn a topic and present it before the class. For the first and second-year students, we have 3-semester exams and 1 university board exam whereas the 3rd and 4th year students have to take 2-semester exams and 1 university board exam to pass.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The cost to study has been a pretty decent 9000 rupees a year. There has been no fee hike during my course in the college and I would thank the government of West Bengal for their generous effort. Our college in association with the government of Westbengal has various scholarship schemes to help the meritorious students in their study. During the 5th year, the students need to do an internship where they get Rs. 30000 per month.
Campus Life :
The annual fest of our college is LOBELIA, which is the biggest cultural fest among all medical colleges of eastern India which is held during the month of September. We have a medifest called THERAPEUO which is held during the month of August every year. We have an ample amount of books and various foreign journals in our library for the students and doctors. we have decent big lecture theatres in each department to conduct the classes. The extracurricular activities on the campus are pretty active. We have various dance, song, drama, and sports club which conducts annual events and competition both inter and intra-college. We also have an NGO which is run by students. To help the poor patients
