Remarks :
The admission process was smooth. For eligibility, you need to secure a rank above the cut-off rank in the NEET UG exam, which changes slightly every year. Check the NTA website for an application form, information about the college the bond agreement, and so on. Check application dates, fees, and documents required from the college website.
Course Curriculum Overview :
This is a great college to study MBBS. There is plenty of experience to be acquired during the internship. Teachers and faculty are good, but just like in most colleges, self-study is required. Theory lectures happen in a lecture hall with an entire class of 250, practical classes are divided into sections, which are further divided into smaller groups of students. Term exams happen timely with due notice and internal exams are easy to pass, taken mainly as practice. The teachers are helpful and informative.
Internships Opportunities :
We can get an internship after the final year. In that one year, one can get a lot of opportunities and learn a lot as a lot of the work in hospitals is done firsthand by interns. We are also given a stipend for our work.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Fees are 4500 per semester, 9000 per year. Hostel fees are 12 rupees per month. Not many scholarships are available within the college, but students may apply for scholarships from NGOs or trust funds. Some students may opt for a house staff job for 6 months after graduating from MBBS.
Campus Life :
Campus life is the highlight of R G Kar. There is an amazing college fest, Lobelia. From this year, the academic fest Therapeuo has started. The library is well-maintained but closes early. There are lots of clubs run on campus that mainly operate during the college fest. There is no shortage of dance, fun, and partying in our college, there is a good balance between study and fun.
