B.Voc in Fashion from AMU

Remarks :

The admission process is quite long. As there is a lot of paperwork to be done, completing it online and submitting forms in various departments. The entrance exam is pretty easy and will include both GAT & CAT questions. There is only one written round, no GDPI or Interview round.

Course Curriculum Overview :

AMU is a reputed university, and studying at it is what many students dream of. B.Voc in fashion design is a very new course started 5 years back approx. It has a good curriculum and foundational subjects. The faculty is really qualified and also helps us whenever we have any issues with the syllabus.

Internships Opportunities :

It is a new course which started 4 years back approx. in this university and thus it does not provide any internship from the college to the students. But with a good portfolio with the work they have done in college could land good internships.

Placement Experience :

As it's a new course, there is no campus placements as of now. But they do provide a list of companies to which students can apply. Although regardless of not having campus placements all you need is a good portfolio that will help you, in getting your dream job.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Although the fees for the program are very affordable for almost everyone. Also, there are so many scholarship opportunities offered by University and the government itself for women students who cannot afford them.

Campus Life :

The university is quite big with a huge resource center, which any student of any department can access through a student id or library card. There is also a huge cultural club that organizes various events and competitions with certificates.

Hostel Facilities :

As this B.Voc program was new in AMU, it does not have its hostel building and thus does not provide hostel accommodation to B.Voc students. But there were many PGs near the university that students can look for.

Interview Experience :

For the entrance exam, there is only one round which is written and no further rounds like Group Discussion or Personal Interviews are done. Written exams consist of GAT (Maths, GK, aptitude, etc) and CAT(Drawing-based).

Placement Experience:

Actually from the 5th semester. We are the first batch, can only say after going through the process for the first time. It's not that you have to take a job in the course you are pursuing, placement cell has made a group & you can get many job offers & oppurtunities there & get selected. Min is 5 LPA. 80% placement occurs & rest goes for higher studies. I will be clearing CAT & take admitted to any of the B-Schools for an MBA in Hospital Management. But among the IIMs, only IIM Jammu offers MBA in hospital management. One can also pursue MBA in other streams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course because I was interested in studying about the renewable energy and it's concepts and more than that Dayalbagh has a really good environment and name. The faculty student ratio is also moderate and good. The faculty is highly qualified for the course. And all teachers are cooperative and under standing. Exams occur regularly.
