Here are some of the things that make IIT BHU stand out.
There is a myriad of reasons which make IIT BHU quite different from other IITs. This is the only IIT in India that delivers Ceramics, Mining, and Pharmaceutical Engineering courses along with a large number of other courses. Being an institute that dates back more than 100 years it has a large alumni base which results in excellent placement records. In fact, IIT BHU is one of the oldest IITs that is known for its great placement scenario in core branches including CSE, ECE, ME, and IT.
The location of the campus is quite unique as it’s located at the heart of the “city of temples- Varanasi”. The city is revered as one of the favorite tourist destinations in India and the famous Vishwanath temple is situated inside the BHU campus. IIT BHU is merged into BHU and shares the same campus. Although the campus is very large, the infrastructure is still a little behind compared to the other old IITs as this institute was designated as an IIT back in 2012. The hostel facilities are quite good and the internet facility is average. But this institute has it’s shortcomings too, there is a shortage of faculty in the department of civil engineering. However, management is doing its best to address the issues. The best thing about this college is that you get a chance to go for outings in the city area of Varanasi and taste the specialty – the Samosa Chai and Paan. In a way, you get integrated into city life and get a chance to experience a unique recreation besides your studies.
