Is IIT-BHU better than IIT Indore?

• Placement: The placement scenario at IIT-BHU is far better as compared to IIT Indore. The highest package, as well as the average package at IIT-BHU, is more than IIT Indore. Students at IIT BHU bagged a salary package of INR 1.53 crore while IIT Indore received INR 36.5 lakhs. The prospects of core jobs are also better at IIT-BHU.
• Research: Being one of the oldest premier institutes of our country, IIT-BHU can give better research exposure to students as it has produced far more research papers than IIT Indore. Also, IIT Indore is a newly opened institution, so it has very little experience in the research field.
• Infrastructure: As IIT Indore has newly constructed buildings, it has better infrastructure and new lab equipment. The buildings and hostels at IIT-BHU are quite old but the infrastructure is improving at a very fast rate.
• Food: The food at the mess of IIT-BHU is much better than IIT Indore and many other institutes. Students who come to IIT-BHU to participate in competitions praise the mess food and say that it is better than their college’s mess food.
• Alumni: Being the oldest institutes in India, IIT BHU has a vast alumni network than IIT Indore. The strong alumni network at IIT-BHU helps the students in securing internships easily as the alumni also offer internship opportunities to students. The occasional alumni interactions help the students get an insight into the future.
• Campus: Unlike all other IITs, IIT-BHU has an open campus and there aren’t any strict rules for campus and hostel entry which gives students their freedom. 

So, if we ignore the infrastructure aspect, then IIT-BHU is better than IIT Indore in every other aspect. The infrastructure is also not that bad which can affect one’s peace of mind and future.
