Placements at IIT Delhi are good. However, circumstances are a bit different for Chemical Engineering. Depending upon the views of students, CE BTech students of IIT Delhi have four options:

  1. Non-core placement in big MNCs.
  2. Prepare for higher studies such as Mtech and Ph.D. Many PSUs also acquire CE BTech graduates through the GATE examination.
  3. Government examinations for Administrative jobs.
  4. If you are passionate about Chemical Engineering and want to pursue a career in the core-sector maintain a decent CGPA, above 8.7, and go abroad for a PhD or as a Ph.D. intern in the top 30 colleges in the world.

Even though Chemical Engineering from IIT Delhi is the best in our country but there aren’t many placement opportunities for core placement in the field of Chemical Engineering. There is not much pressure from the department so you get ample time to prepare for administrative jobs or improve your coding skills and other skills required for non-core jobs. There are various non-sectors such as software, finance, analytics, etc., where CE students can get placements. In 2019 the average placement package offered at IIT Delhi was 16 LPA.
