Which is better, a CSE at MNNIT Allahabad or petroleum at IIT Dhanbad?

IITs and NITs have always been the first priority of the students seeking admission into engineering colleges. According to NIRF engineering ranking 2020 IIT Dhanbad and MNNIT Allahabad secure 15th and 48th positions respectively. IITs and NITs are known for the projects prepared by their students. Whether it is academics, placement, extracurricular activities they do excel in each field.

Admission:

  • For admission into MNNIT Allahabad students need to obtain a good rank in the JEE main exams and the cut-off for the CSE branch is 1269-3101.

  • Students seeking admission into IIT Dhanbad need to qualify for the JEE main exams. Selected candidates in the JEE mains again have to appear for the JEE Advance. The cut-off for petroleum branches is 6060-7385.

  • For admission into MTech courses, the qualifying exam remains the same that is GATE.

Facilities:

  • IIT Dhanbad offers a home-like atmosphere to its students. The Digital library, hostels, cafeteria, gymnasium are some of the facilities available.

  • Facilities provided at MNNIT include a book and stationery shop, free wi-fi connectivity, clubs, a stereo system, and a lot more.

Faculty:

  • IIT Dhanbad has a diverse group of faculty that includes 335 highly qualified faculty. Out of 335, 315 faculty members are Ph.D. holders in their respective fields.

  • MNNIT Allahabad has also a good number of faculty who graduated from national and international universities.

Course fees:

The course fee includes hostel, mess, health care, gymnasium, and a lot more. Students who avail of the hostel and mess facility will have to pay a little more.

  • Per year course fee for BTech at IIT Dhanbad is INR 2.3 Lakhs and INR 86000 at MNNIT.

  • The MTech per year course fee at IIT Dhanbad is INR 57000, and INR 1.13 lakhs at MNNIT.

Placements:

  • IIT Dhanbad never fails to maintain an impressive placement record. 75% of students were placed from the petroleum branch. The highest package offered was 21 lakhs.

  • In the recent placement drive, 98% of students were placed from the Computer Science branch. The highest package offered was 36 LPA and the average package offered was 16 LPA at MNNIT.

To help economically weaker students both the colleges provide scholarships. Exposure is given to research and development, with the help of highly experienced faculty.
