I have lost my IGNOU student ID card. Is there a way to acquire another copy?

You should not be concerned if you misplaced your ID card. You are not even required to visit the Regional Center for this. The following are the steps you must take:

  • Install the IGNOU Student App app.

  • Log in using your enrollment number, program, and date of birth.

  • When you click on ID Card, you will see a popup that says, “Use your enrollment number as password” to open the ID Card. To download it, click OK.

  • The document will be downloaded to your phone; simply print it from a cyber cafe near your home.

  • You do not need to put a stamp or a signature on it. There is already a signature and a stamp on it. It is authentic and valid.

An IGNOU ID card is required to take TEE and practical exams. If you lose your ID card, you must follow these steps to receive a replacement.

How do students get study material from IGNOU?

PB
Priya Bhardwaj Posted On : October 18th, 2022
M.Com, in Postgraduate Diploma in International Business Operations (PGDIBO) & UGC NET, Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU)

After completing your registration, you must provide your email address and phone number. You will receive a confirmation email regarding your application, indicating that it has been acknowledged.

After a month or two, you will receive a text message or email with instructions on how to retrieve your study materials. It is important to remember that the Study Center and the location where you collect your study materials (Regional Center) are not the same.

You can also send an email requesting that it be sent to your address, which you will receive approximately 2 months later. However, you must visit the Regional Center at least once to obtain your enrollment card and have it stamped.

Keep in touch with the institution via email until you receive what you require. I would not recommend making phone calls because it is always busy and difficult to get through.

Why is a degree from the IGNOU discriminated?

AJ
Ann Shabu John Posted On : October 20th, 2022
Masters in Political Science and International Relations & Comparative Politics, Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU)

Many people believe that MCA is too difficult and not worth the effort. You don't have to listen to someone else's hopelessness or anything negative people say if you haven't experienced it. Simply be on time and schedule everything accordingly, and everything will fall into place. You simply must be committed and serious about what you are doing.

Not only at IGNOU, but in any university, not every student is treated equally. Every student is unique, with their own study habits and learning abilities. Never give up and keep trying until you succeed. Instead of listening to rumors, do what you believe is best for you and your future.

Is there anyone working in IT after doing BCA MCA from IGNOU?

KL
Karishma Luthra Posted On : October 21st, 2022
M.C.A. in Computers, Master of Science in Computer Science

Many people work in top MNCs after completing BCA/MCA from IGNOU and are earning competitive salaries with other professionals who have completed B.Tech/MBA from traditional colleges. Getting a good job and a good package is dependent on how skilled you are and how well you can justify your competency in an interview. Even though many companies do not hire people with degrees from IGNOU or other distance-learning universities, there are many who do, based on their ability.

The conclusion is that pursuing a degree course through IGNOU should not be your first choice if you are capable of obtaining an education from a good college.

People pursue their education through IGNOU due to personal reasons that prevent them from enrolling in a top engineering college. IGNOU's mission is to make education accessible to all, and for those who, for whatever reason, are unable to travel to study, IGNOU provides quality education in their home city.

Is a PhD from IGNOU valid?

PK
Pankaj Kumar Posted On : October 18th, 2022
Studied Master of Arts in Political Science at Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) (Graduated 2019)

PhD from IGNOU is as valuable as from any other university. The UGC has recently ruled that PhD from distance education is no longer valid. This is applicable to every university.

PhD is valid only in regular mode. This can be both part-time or full-time. IGNOU offers both so yes PhD from IGNOU is valuable. In fact, it is more valuable than the same degree from Manipal or Lovely Professional University.

PhD from IGNOU is valuable because of the following reasons:

  • Affordable fees

  • Both part-time and full-time available ( both approved by UGC)

  • Easy distance education

  • Can be pursued alongside a business or profession.

What really matters is what you learn during your course and how you apply it.

Is an IGNOU degree valid for Kerala PSC now? Also is an IGNOU distance learning BCom and MCom valid for a lecturer post in Kerala PSC?

SS
Sukhvindar Singh Posted On : March 15th, 2023
Studied Political Science and International Relations at Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) (Graduated 2014)

Remember that degrees earned through any mode, such as regular, evening classes, correspondence, or private, from any university recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC), are valid and equivalent to any government job. This means that regardless of the method by which you earned your degree, it will be considered valid as long as it was obtained from a UGC-recognized university.

If you are pursuing a degree through distance education, it is important to ensure that the program is recognized by both the UGC and the Distance Education Council (DEC). The DEC is controlled by Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), so you can be confident in the validity of your distance education degree if it is from IGNOU. The video further talks about the validity of Distance Education

In summary, it is crucial for you to ensure that your degree is from a UGC-recognized university, regardless of the mode of education. Additionally, if you are pursuing a degree through distance education, make sure that it is recognized by both the UGC and DEC, with IGNOU being a reliable option. By ensuring that your degree meets these requirements, you can feel confident in pursuing a government job with your degree.
