IGNOU conducts examinations in a timely manner.
The outcome of your degree depends on you. If you work hard and put in the required effort, you can easily score good grades.
If you are studying at Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) and you failed to pass all the papers in your first year, don't worry, you can still progress to the second year of your course. Here's what you need to know:
It is important for you to keep in mind that degrees earned through any mode, such as regular, evening classes, correspondence, or private, from any university recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC), are valid and equivalent for any government job. This means that regardless of the method in which you earned your degree, it will be considered valid as long as it was obtained from a UGC-recognized university.
If you are pursuing a degree through distance education, it is important to ensure that the program is recognized by both the UGC and the Distance Education Council (DEC). The DEC is controlled by Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), so you can be confident in the validity of your distance education degree if it is from IGNOU.
In summary, it is crucial for you to ensure that your degree is from a UGC-recognized university, regardless of the mode of education. Additionally, if you are pursuing a degree through distance education, make sure that it is recognized by both the UGC and DEC, with IGNOU being a reliable option. By ensuring that your degree meets these requirements, you can feel confident in pursuing a government job with your degree.
Yes, UGC has given its approval regarding pursuing two courses at the same time, only provided that one cannot pursue both these courses in regular mode. This basically means that for both courses to be considered valid,, one course has to be in regular mode and the other course must be in distance mode from Open University.
UGC rules are applicable in the case of IGNOU also. Earlier before UGC made such changes, IGNOU did not allow two regular courses simultaneously through the same University. But in accordance with recent regulations, you can do two regular as well as two distance courses at the same time.

For instance, you have taken admission to the July 2022 session. You are required to submit your assignments before 31st March 2023. Only after submitting your assignments, you are eligible for the TEE Exam, and that too in the month of June 2023.
In special cases, like you were not able to give some exams you can appear for the December TEE exams though.

If you fail to score 50% in assignments, you will have to resubmit them. If you score above 30 out of 100 or 18 out of 500 in theory, then you will pass without having submitted assignments.
Percentage Calculation - Assignments- 30% weightage and Term End Examination- 70% weightage for FST (Foundation Course in Science & Technology) and FHS (Foundation Course in Humanities and Social Sciences).
If a university issues a certificate to a student who passed a written examination in a state other than the university's territorial jurisdiction. For example, if a state university grants admission and conducts exams in another state, the results will be invalid under UGCC regulations.
For example, Andhra University (state university) should not conduct examinations outside of Andhra Pradesh.
If it is done in this manner, the certificate will be invalid. As a result, it is one of the reasons why IGNOU does not admit students with such certificates.
If there is a court case against the university that issued the certificate, IGNOU will not grant admission based on that certificate. As a result, IGNOU has stringent UGC admission requirements.

The cost of changing subjects in IGNOU is as follows:
Change in Elective/Course is permitted within 30 days from the receipt of the first set of course material on payment of INR 300/- for a 2/4 credit course
INR 600/- for a 6/8 credit course for undergraduate courses.
For the Master’s Degree Programme, it is INR 500/- for 2/4 credit
INR 1000/- for 6/8 credits course
All these payments are to be made by way of a demand draft drawn in favour of IGNOU payable at the place of concerned Regional Centre. All such requests for a change of Elective/ Course should be addressed to the concerned Regional Centre only as per schedule.
However, the first point -Change in Elective/Course is permitted within 30 days from the receipt of the first set of course material on payment of INR 300/- for a 2/4 credit course is subject to doubt. This is because many of my friends have changed their elective courses after two or three months.
