The most suitable option is Chandigarh University.

The reasons for selecting Chandigarh University are self-explanatory:

  • CU is the newest and fastest-growing NAAC-accredited A+ university.
  • The Limca Book world record for best placements is held by CU.
  • A well-balanced, industry-specific curriculum.
  • Seminars, guest lectures, workshops, hostel events, inter-departmental competitions, star nights, industrial visits, and many other activities are held on a regular basis.
  • Various clubs for students to develop their skills. Urdu societies, poetry societies, music clubs, dance clubs, photography clubs, and so on.

Chandigarh University is one of the top educational institutions in North India. By reputed national and international accreditation bodies and media houses, CU is consistently ranked among the top institutions in Punjab for academic excellence, innovative pedagogy, research, and placements.

Which is better for an MS in General Surgery: AIIMS, JIPMER or PGI?

AB

Surgery can’t be read and understood. Also, no matter the number of simulations you run through, practicing on a human body is very different.

Now, with their limited number of beds, these institutions perform complex surgeries through protocol defining procedures. As a resident at these, you won’t perform many surgeries. Also, you’ll have a limited exposure to trivial diseases. On the flip side, you’ll witness some of the best surgeons at work, and access top notch technology. To master surgery, you’ll have to become an SR at these institutions.

But at a decent government college hospital, the volume of patients is very high. As a result, you’ll be pushed into the OT. So you’ll get good practice, under proper supervision. However, at these colleges, protocols take a back seat. You’ll have to compromise with low funding as a resident at these institutions.

I would personally recommend going for a decent government college. But you should choose according to your own preferences.

Are SPJIMR (Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan's) and SP Jain School of Global Management related in any way? If they are not related, which one is better?

PK
Praveen Kumar Posted On : March 6th, 2023
Studied at Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad

I am going to address the most common misconception that SPJIMR and SP Jain are somewhat related.

Establishment: SPJIMR was established in 1981 and is associated with the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, one of the only two institutes of national importance. SP Jain on the other hand was established in 2005. SP Jain or Sheehan Prasad Jain provided capital for the foundation of SPJIMR during its establishment. Later they decided to launch their own brand in the name of SP Jain. This is the main reason why people get confused between the two.

Campus: SPJIMR is solely Mumbai based and has no other campus whereas SP Jain’s Mumbai campus is one of the 4 campuses of the institute.

Legacy: SPJIMR is 36 years old and has a legacy of providing excellent management education focusing on value-based growth. SP Jain is a relatively new institute that is yet to build some credibility in order to impact the Management scene in India.

Alumni: SPJIMR has a much stronger and broader alumni network than SP Jain.

We can draw the following points of conclusion from this comparison

  • SPJIMR is the authentic SP B School everyone is looking for
  • The quality of education at SPJIMR is at elegy with that of International B Schools which is not the case for SP Jain
  • The little game achieved by SP Jain is because of its accidental linkup with SPJIMR
  • The schools are definitely not rivals as SPJIMR is way ahead of SP Jain. We cannot really compare a 10-year Institute with a 36-year-old one.

I hope my answer has cleared all your doubts regarding the relationship between SPJIMR and SP Jain.

Which one is better Sikkim Manipal, SRM or the NCR campus?

AG
Aakash Garg Posted On : May 30th, 2021
studied at SRM University, Modinagar (2019)

According to my friend at SRM, the KTR campus of SRM is the best choice. If you consider factors like faculty, placements, and a lot more. The points below will provide you a brief overview of all the institutes stated above and the advantages of SRM over them.

  • SRM University has three campuses, first in Kattankulathur, second in Ramapuram, and third in Vadapalani. The campus in Kattankulathur (KTR) is marked as the best among them.
  • In SRM KTR, will make you a real engineer. It has excellent faculty, provides a lot of on-campus placement opportunities, and is also good in extra-curricular activities.
  • The other two campuses of SRM, Ramapuram, and Vadapalani, are somewhat satisfactory, but not as good as the KTR campus.
  • Talking about the NCR, the campus is quite far away from Delhi, which results in a lot of travel to and from Delhi on weekends.
  • The faculty of NCR is not that good and so students have to be dependent on self-study. The placements are decent because it is held in the Chennai (KTR) campus. But, the NCR campus has much lesser fees than the Chennai campus and so, it is considered better.
  • The Manipal University is called a happening campus, which provides excellent college life, extra-curricular activities, party culture, etc. But, students in Manipal University should be aware of the bad habits on campus and choose friends wisely for the same reason.
  • The fee structure in Manipal University is also on a slightly higher side. It provides average quality placement to students.

Is NIT Delhi going to become as good as DTU and NSIT (or even better) in the future in terms of placements, faculty, and campus life?

AB
Akriti Banerjee Posted On : July 6th, 2023
lives in New Delhi

NIT Delhi was established in 2010 and is still struggling to make its mark in the education world. As for your question, if NIT Delhi will reach the level of DTU and NSIT soon, I feel that it certainly will. The following points support my stance further

  • Every year, NIT Delhi has at least one student who gets ranked under 100 in GATE
  • A student of NIT Delhi has gone for GSOC more than one time and is now a CERN(European Organisation for Nuclear Research)Geneva.
  • NIT DELHI has highly qualified teachers and one of them worked in NASA, ISRO, and Japanese space organizations and then finally became a professor at NIT Delhi.
  • NIT Delhi's first convocation ceremony’s Guest of Honor was Shri Pranab Mukherjee.
  • The students here actively participate in research work and the Director itself has published 300 research papers in International/National journals.
  • One of NIT Delhi's alumni has the honor of joining IIM Indore.
  • NIT Delhi placement 2021 recorded an 88% placement percentage and top companies like Adobe, Amadeus, Avalara, and Code Nation visited the campus.
  • NIT Delhi has the second fastest internet in India.

NIT Delhi may be lacking in terms of campus and alumni but it’s nothing that cannot be improved in the years to come!

Which is best, ECE at Thapar University or CSE at Jaypee Noida?

SP
Shaguna Pandey Posted On : August 12th, 2021
B.Tech Computer Programming, Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology (2019)

CSE at JIIT is clearly better than ECE at Thapar. You must have a minimum JEE rank of 51,000 to get CSE at JIIT Noida.

There are no state quota, caste quota, or NRI quota at JIIT but Thapar offers a 50% quota for Punjab state students. This results in a superior quality of students at JIIT Noida than Thapar. Due to quotas and an increase in the number of seats, anyone can get admission at Thapar University.

If a student has a 300,000 rank in JEE Main, he will not be able to gain a seat anywhere, but if he is from Punjab, he may be able to secure a place in Electrical Engineering in Thapar. This explains how Thapar's situation has deteriorated.

JIIT will offer you great exposure which is actually required in CSE with regular industrial visits. CSE has more scope in terms of placements than ECE.

How is JNU in comparison to Harvard?

AB
Akriti Banerjee Posted On : August 4th, 2023

Both institutes are well-reputed and suitable for higher studies. But it is not possible to compare Harvard with JNU, as they both follow completely different structures and curricula. Harvard University stands out in terms of good academics, infrastructure, faculties, placement, and ranking.

JNU has a pulsating student culture, as they have various clubs and student-led organizations that result in the active participation of students in cultural and political activities. The students became socially oriented, and they should have a significant commitment to our society.

Both of them are unique and renowned.
