According to placement data from the academic year of 2022-2023, the average package for an MTech in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) at IIT Madras was around INR 21.48 LPA, and the Highest Package was around INR 1.98 CPA.

However, it’s important to note that CTCs are usually inflated highly and include joining bonuses and stock options that are not permanent. 

Almost all the students get placed and MTech students get plenty of placement opportunities. Around 500 recruiters made offers. Some of the top recruiting companies were

Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology placements are good for CSE and IT departments. Around 90% of students from these departments get placed through the campus drive. The average salary package offered for these departments is around INR 4 LPA. Companies such as TCS, IBM, Byju’s, Extramarks, Haldia Petrochemical, etc. take part in the placement drive. 

NIT Agartala does not release official statements of branch-wise statistics so it's difficult to produce data on the same. However, I asked a few friends regarding the CSE placements at NIT Agartala. Based on what I heard from them, the placements are decent. Almost 100% of students were placed in 2022 and the average package is INR 13–14 LPA. The highest package was recorded at around INR 53 LPA while the lowest package was INR 8.5 LPA.

Many top companies visit the campus for recruitment and the institute has an active training and placement cell that offers assistance to the students in securing internships and placements.

IIT Kharagpur is always open to consulting companies. However, the top consultants you mentioned don’t visit IIT Kharagpur usually because

• The recruiting in consulting companies is generally done by Partner level executives. These are extremely busy people who are paid hefty amounts for just one hour of counseling. 
• The consultants you mentioned have a small demand which is fulfilled by IIT Delhi or IIT Bombay wherever the main office is.
• Traveling to IIT Kharagpur requires 2-3 days and consultants are not that free
• The profile which goes to some of the local colleges may not be the same which comes to IITs.

But if you look from a positive aspect, although IIT Kharagpur was not visited by top consulting companies, it had more than 130 offers, which is the highest among IITs and packages offered, but at par with other IITs. 

The average package for someone in CS at NIT Raipur varies from year to year and is influenced by several factors such as the economy, industry trends, and the performance of students. However, based on the latest available information, the average package for CS at NIT Raipur is around 8-10 LPA

Placements for B.Tech Mechanical are good at NIT Durgapur. 

These are some companies that visit the campus for recruitments- Bajaj Auto R&D, LnT Power, Lnt ECC, Ashok Leyland, Saint Gobain,Thermax, Capegemini, Pricewatercoopers(PWC), Tredence, Mphasis, Analytics Quotient, Tata Consultancy Services, Linde India Ltd., Hero Motocorp, Tata Motors, Aakash Institute, Tata Tinplate, Vedanta, Wacker Metroark, Pradan, Tractors India Ltd.(TIL), Nuvoco Vistas Corp. Ltd., Jindal Steel Limited, Indian Oil Corporation Ltd., Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited, Paharpur Cooling Towers Limited (PCTL), Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), JSW Steel, Elegant Marine Services, Denso, MN Dastur, Anglo Eastern, and Lalwani Ferro Alloys.

For 2023 placements, B.Tech Mechanical branch achieved 84.05% placements. The average CTC for Mechanical stood at INR 9.72 LPA.

Thus, the placements for B.Tech Mechanical at NIT Durgapur are quite promising.

Placements at IIM Lucknow are better than at IIM Kozhikode. But it seems the placement reports exaggerate the actual figures. Many students remain unplaced at these big B Schools making many questions their credibility.

Because of its location, Anna University Trichy lacks a lot in the placement area. They are nothing compared to the placements in Chennai. Some students in core engineering departments do get placed. But the placement scenario for technology departments like Biotechnology, Petro, and Pharma is really unsatisfactory. In fact, these departments lack placement opportunities even in Chennai. 

The placement scenarios are very lacking at Anna university Trichy but they are trying their best to improve in this aspect. Also, I have heard from many of its alumni that the quality of lectures at this college is much better than many private institutions.
