I have a friend who recently graduated from NIT Goa. According to him, for the home state, you should score around 160. Although it may vary since the mark required is increasing every year.
According to the 2021 cutoff trends, the required cutoff (HS) for CSE is 14581. For more information on the cutoff, you can go through the JOSAA website.
According to the recent cut-off trends for PES University, the cut-off for computer science was 1094. So you can easily get admission in all the other branches, i.e. electronics and communication, electrical and electronics engineering, biotechnology engineering, mechanical engineering, and civil engineering.
Many factors determine the cut-off like the number of students who applied, appeared, and qualified for the exam; seat availability; difficulty level of the exam; and reservation policy.
So it is advisable for you that once you qualify for the exam you should analyze all these aspects to know about your chances to get admission to PES University.
If you are from the general category, then it is a bit difficult to get MAIT with a 5,160 rank in the spot round. However, you can try for the Mechanical branch in the third round of counseling.
Among MAIT, and BVP the former is the better option when compared in terms of academics, opportunities, and placement records of past years. The placement statistics recorded as per the latest recruitment drive are as follows for both the colleges.

In JEE Main, a score of 190+ is considered to be sufficient if you want to get admitted to IIEST Shibpur and you belong to any other state apart from West Bengal.
Here is the cutoff required for different branches in recent years.

You need to keep in mind the marks obtained in JEE Mains are completely based on the difficulty level of the question paper. If the question paper becomes easier, more marks will be required and if the question paper is difficult, lesser marks will work. But you should aim for a higher score so that things fall in your favor.
One of my friends attends IIEST and here is his insight regarding cutoffs.
Your rank in JEE mains seems to be 5-6k more than the cutoff borderline for receiving admission into Metallurgy and Materials Engineering. According to the recent cutoff trends, the required cutoff for Metallurgy and Material Engineering are as follows.
It would be difficult to get in Metallurgy and Materials Engineering with your rank. Your admissions in any branch are never guaranteed solely on the basis of cutoffs as the cutoffs drastically change in the case of JEE. The cutoffs provided are an approximation of your field of choice.
The cutoffs are released after the spot round. So, it’s difficult to say what is the required cutoff for Electrical branch in the spot round at PEC Chandigarh.
But assuming that you are from the open/general category, these are the starting cut-off ranks for recent years.

Since the number of seats in PEC is the same as last year (no increase or decrease) you can expect fairly the same ranks this year too. So, work hard and make sure you get in the rank range.
It is possible to get into departments such as Metallurgy, Mining, and Aerospace, with a rank as you mentioned above. You can also get into the Civil engineering department, assuming that you belong to the general category.
Moreover, it also somewhat depends on whether you are from the home state or not. You should run a deep check on the latest cut-off as placed for this year.
Here is the cut-off of recent years for both home state students and students arriving from other parts of the country to help determine if you are likely to get selected.
Course | Home State Students | Other State Students |
Aerospace Engineering | 31814 | 14589 |
Civil Engineering | 40148 | 35795 |
Computer Science and Engineering | 11796 | 11947 |

Metallurgy and Materials Engineering | 41879 | 40051 |

It is suggested that you remain updated with any relevant data about the latest cut-off trends followed by the institute only recently.
219 is a decent score but getting an interview call from NMIMS Mumbai would also largely depend on other factors like the competition pool, the difficulty level of the exam, and the admission policy of the institute.
If we see the past trends, NMAT cut-offs for the main campus are usually around 230-235 with the sectional cutoffs being around 98-99. NMAT 2022 was not one of the easiest so it is speculated that the cutoffs would go down a bit as compared to last year’s.
But I would still suggest not keeping your hope high and a backup option. Even if you clear the overall cutoff, your sectional score might create a problem for you. With this score, you could get calls from TAPMI, and KJ Somaiya.
You should focus on your JEE Main preparation. Don’t worry about the required cutoff. Try to score 99 percentile, that way you can choose any branch that you like. If you are a student from Goa origin then 98 percentile is enough to get top branches.
Here is the 2021 cutoff for various branches.
B.Tech branches | General
Home State | Outside State
Civil Engineering | 87610 | 31362-35494 |
Computer Science and Engineering | 14581 | 7420-10323 |

Mechanical Engineering | 82553 - 83783 | 23542 - 26295 |
This should give you some ideas about the required cutoff for NIT Goa.
Since you haven’t mentioned your category, I will be mentioning HBTU Cutoff 2022 for the general category only.
