What are the tips to perform better in CT-GE-PI at IMT Hyderabad?

Raktim Tarafdar Posted On : July 13th, 2023

There are some important points that I will share with you from my experience in the CT-GE-PI at IMT Hyderabad.

Critical Thinking-

  1. Do not engage in story-telling and be on point.
  2. Use pointers instead of essay form.
  3. Provide relevant facts and figures.

Group Exercise-

  1. Do not wait for your turn. Take charge from the very beginning
  2. You will need a strong competitive spirit. Start speaking when the instructor tells the group to begin.
  3. Try to be loud enough. The instructor sees the number on your back and awards scores accordingly.
  4. Try to lead and take charge of the group. However, do not be too dominating as this may prove unfavorable for you.

Personal Interview-

  1. Be Confident. The panel will easily sense it if you are not confident during the interview.
  2. Be Honest. The panel will easily find out if you try to lie during the interview.
  3. If you are a fresher, make sure to brush up on your basics.
  4. If you have work experience, you should be well-versed in your job profile and company.

These are some important points that you must remember for the CT-GE-PI at IMT Hyderabad.

What’s the minimum percentage required for admission in IIM Indore and Kozhikode?

GK
Gauri Kapoor Posted On : January 12th, 2023
CAT 100th percentiler, IIMA Alumnus, Co Founder at Cracku

Depending on the candidate's profile, an IIM callback minimum percentile may apply. In addition to CAT exam results, a number of other factors, including academic standing, work history, professional certifications, gender diversity, and others, are taken into consideration during the top IIMs' admissions process. Each IIM has a different approach to how much importance it places on prior academic performance. IIM Indore, for instance, places a lot of emphasis on performance in the 10th and 12th grades.

  • At IIM Kozhikode:

Three steps make up the IIMK admissions process:

  • Stage 1 requires Minimum qualifications.
  • Shortlist for Stage 2's Written Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI)
  • The Third Stage is the Final Selection.

  • At IIM Indore:

People who consistently perform well in school are known to receive rewards from IIM Indore (especially in 10th and 12th). There are three stages to the IIM Indore admissions process:

  • Stage 1 is the Requirements for Eligibility
  • Shortlisting for the Written Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Interview at Stage 2 (PI)
  • Final Selection at Stage Three.

This is a general overview of the IIM Indore and Kozhikode admissions process.

How do I make sure to get admission at IIM Kozhikode provided I have a profile of X-91, XII-89, B.Tech (EEE)-65, and also a GEM fresher?

A
Admin Posted On : January 25th, 2024

IIM Kozhikode evaluates your academic accomplishments in this manner- 75% for CAT score, 20% for class 12th score, and 5% for academic diversity.

You have an average academic performance throughout, and do not belong to the academic diversity quota. In this case, a CAT percentile of 99.2+ will be required to get you a call from IIMK. After which, your admission will be based on your performance in GD PI. My brother had the same score in his 12th boards as you. He ended up receiving a call at 99.25 percentile.

Try getting a high CAT score to get a call from IIM Kozhikode.

Duration: 2 semesters

Languages taught: French, German, Japanese languages

Admission process:

  • The applications to get enrolled in this program are sent out in July every year.
  • These applications can be downloaded from the Dean of Student Affairs (DoSA) IIT Kanpur homepage or collected personally from its office.
  • Fill out the application form and send it to the DOSA office and you will be given admission based on the order of receipt of applications.

The admission process is quite simple and one needs to make the decision as soon as possible because your application will not be considered if the seats are filled.

Can we complete our MA in English in IIT Delhi or any other IITs? If yes, what is the admission procedure?

AB

No, IIT Delhi does not provide MA in English. Some other IITs do provide humanities programs, for instance, IIT Madras offers 5-year integrated MA courses in English as well as in Development Studies. Admission to these courses is done through an entrance test called HSEE.

Other IITs have their own net above tests for the specific humanities programs offered and details can be sought from the official website of respective colleges. Additionally, some IITs also offer Ph.D. programs in different humanities disciplines including English literature.

Do people from NIT take admission in IMI Delhi and IMT Ghaziabad for their MBA?

SS
Shashank Srivastava Posted On : January 27th, 2023
Studied at Institute of Management Technology, Ghaziabad

People from NIT and IITs should definitely get admission to IMI Delhi or IMT Ghaziabad. Unlike the general misconception that people from ivy graduate colleges should go for the top PG colleges also, IMT and IMI are rather good choices. If an Institute helps you to build your career then the brand value hardly matters.

I have seen many people who after graduation from NIT and IITs join IMI and are glad to do so. My brother completed his graduation from DTU Delhi and joined IMI for MBA and claims that he was able to learn so many new things in the first 6 months. One of my friends also joined IMI after completing his Engineering from NIT Uttarakhand.

So what I actually mean is people from NIT and IIT can definitely pursue their MBA from IMI and IMT and won’t regret this decision.

How important is work experience to get admission in ISB Hyderabad?

SL
Saija Luthra Posted On : February 15th, 2023
PGDBA (IIM Calcutta, ISI Kolkata, IIT Kgp)

You have the opportunity to attend ISB Hyderabad, a top-notch management school, with at least two years of work experience. However, there are also options available for college students or those with 0-2 years of work experience through their YLP (Young Leaders Program) and EEO (Early Entry Option) programs.

The YLP program allows you to apply during your pre-final year of college and complete the admission process by the time you reach your final year. Once you have two years of work experience, you can start classes at ISB Hyderabad with a deferred admission.

The EEO program offers a similar process for students in their final year of college or those with 0-2 years of work experience.

It's important to note that the YLP and EEO programs only provide different ways of applying to ISB and everything else, including the course content, is the same for all students.

Does the 10th, the 12th and the graduate marks percent is considered to be essential part to get admission in ISB Hyderabad?

AS
Anjali Shukla Posted On : February 7th, 2023
Studied at Indian School of Business

B Schools focus on overall profiles rather than individual parameters. Individually speaking your 12th score values a lot in ISB Hyderabad admission. But if you look at the bigger picture it is just one of the many factors that determine one’s eligibility. B Schools specially ISB Hyderabad prefer candidates with an overall pleasing profile rather than extraordinary performance in one area only. For instance, someone with splendid past academics may not get admission because he wrote a poor essay or performed badly at the interview.

If you are bothered a lot by your low marks in class 10 or 12, you should have a logical reason for your poor performance. Also, you should compensate for poor scores by getting excellent GMAT scores and working on other areas like EQ and IQ. Another way to compensate for average past performance is by portraying an excellent extracurricular background or the social work you have done so far.

The most crucial part is the clarity of goals. More than any score what matters is the reason you choose MBA and that too from ISB Hyderabad.

Your profile should have something that sets you apart from other candidates and increases your chances of admission.
