Both Pune University and Mumbai University are well-esteemed institutions in India imparting superior quality education. However, the one that is suitable for you depends on your individual needs and preferences. Some factors that are usually considered are location, campus culture, and research opportunities. It's advisable to research both universities and visit them in person if possible to make a wise decision.
In my opinion, however, Pune University has a much higher preference rate than Mumbai university. This is because of the following factors:
If you genuinely want to understand concepts and create amazing memories along with a lot of struggles, Pune University is for you. If you are looking for a laid-back campus life and a calm learning environment, then Mumbai University is best for you.
One of my friends is a student of BIT Mesra and yet claims that joining NIT Rourkela would have been a better decision. He regrets choosing BIT Mesra because
Overall, I will say BIT Mesra offers a good academic environment but that is it. It lacks a vibrant college life so if you are looking for one, choose NIT Rourkela!
Computer Science Engineering (CSE) is an academic program that integrates the fields of Computer Engineering and Computer Science and is highly sought after by engineering students. The course covers a wide range of topics, but places emphasis on the fundamentals of computer programming and networking. Subjects covered in the course include computation, algorithms, programming languages, program design, computer software, computer hardware, and more.
Computer science engineers are involved in various aspects of computing, ranging from designing microprocessors, personal computers, and supercomputers, to circuit design and writing software that powers these devices.
The subjects covered in each semester of the Computer Science Engineering syllabus of BTech at IIT Bombay include:

To be eligible for a BTech in CSE, you must have passed the Class 12 exam from a recognized board with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as core subjects, and obtained a minimum aggregate of 60% in these subjects.
You should not be expecting placements for an M.Tech from NIT Surathkal. The scenario is quite different for the CS/IT background students.
Categories | M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering at NIT Surathkal |
Course Fee | 1.29 lakhs |
Course Duration | 2 years |
Highest CTC | 14-15 LPA |
Average CTC | 7 LPA |
The placement is really good in NIT Surathkal. Many top companies participate in the placement program. These companies include Microsoft, Google, Tech Mahindra, IBM, TCS, Capgemini, Accenture, Wipro, Mindtree, Infosys, etc.
My cousin studies at SDA Bocconi Asia Center. It was known as MISB Bocconi earlier and is the pan Asia centre of SDA Bocconi of Milan. It is also triple-accredited by AACSB, EQUIS, and AMBA. With all these tags to its name, you will have a world-class faculty that teaches at the Milan campus as well. This is how the program looks like-
The college has seen visits from the following companies in the past: AICL Communications, Baxter, Bostik, Catenon Worldwide, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, H&M, ICICI Securities, Kims Global, Piaggio, TCS, Universal Consulting, Vodafone India, ZS Associates, Nykka, Soulflower etc.
If your profile is strong, you'd receive a scholarship as well which will save you from spending over INR 25 lakhs for a 22-month program. However, even if you can spend that much, go ahead because you won't be disappointed.
My cousin is an alumnus of NITIE and has spent two years in the institute as a student. His opinion is based on professional experience and may not be true for summer and final placements at SJMSOM and XLRI.
A counter-argument can turn up claiming that the companies do not look at the scores. It is up to the students concerned to follow this notion.
The internship scenario at VMMC is quite disappointing and tiring. The number of patients is so huge in all the departments and interns have to work more than required to get the work done. Their focus is not to learn new procedures but to complete the work and go. Here is the department-wise scenario
Overall, through the internships, you will get confident at least in minor tasks, and gain a lot of hands-on experience.
I would always recommend people to go for new AIIMS than old state colleges because the old colleges are functioning with their full-fledged potential and won’t witness much changes or growth in the near future. The new AIIMS on the other hand have great potential and even within a short period of time have almost reached the same level as these state colleges. Now imagine the potential they hold in the years to come. The new AIIMS have a top-notch infrastructure and very dynamic faculties. If this wasn’t enough to convince you to look at the following points to understand further
Ultimately, it’s your learning that matters and not whether you belong to AIIMS Delhi or from the lowest-ranked college in a state.
BITS Pilani is far better when compared with other top IITs, but of course, the brand value has more demand in the current scenario, and IIT offers more effective placement support than BITS. Here are some points are given below to get more clarity about BITS Pilani, Goa
Funding – IITs are rapidly advancing institutes in India, and they are centrally funded for scientific research and lab equipment. But BITS Pilani is not bad for funding, they have a decent funding system
Start-Ups- Both IITS and BITS are equally good at start-up culture. BITS Pilani is growing and trying to meet with other IITs, which is actually good for the students
Placements – Since IITs are more approachable and attractive to companies, they have a relatively good placement status when compared with BITS. Most of the students are satisfied with the package. BITS, Goa, has a better placement for the CSE branch than other branches
Academics – Both institutes are good at academics, and the departments are rich with renowned scholars.
Hostel – BITS, Goa, offers an incredible campus life to the students. The fee structure is comparatively cheaper and provides good meals for the students.
I will try to answer your query and provide some additional information.
After the top most colleges- AIIMS, PGI, JIPMER, NIMHANS and SGPGI, these are the colleges you should try for- Medical colleges in Delhi are the best choice. Out of these, MAMC is the most desirable. It is followed by VMMC, LHMC and UCMS. Then come the medical colleges in Mumbai. KEM is a top medical college, followed by Sion and Grant. Colleges of Kerala and Madras are at par with one another. But Madras Medical College is the best among these. AFMC and CMC Vellore are great for patients, but not so much for the students.
Thus, MAMC is a great choice. I do not possess much knowledge of KGMU and IMS BHU, so I haven’t talked about them.
