Is it easy to score CGPA (expected above 8) in Amity University Noida for B.Tech?

AG
Ankita Garg Posted On : March 1st, 2021
Studied at Amity University

No, it’s not easy to score above 8 in Amity. You need to be very particular and disciplined about your studies to be able to achieve above 8 in Amity. You need to keep your attendance above 90% for all the subjects. You should try to become the CR of the class. It helps in many situations.

Keep yourself away from any kind of community, society, organizations, or student chapters. They will take up so much of your time and energy. You won’t realize it initially but later on, when things will get out of your hands, you will realize the importance of the time wasted in those meetings, functions, and seminars by the student chapters.

You can even be a part of extracurricular activities but at your own risk. You need to first focus on your academics, and then on anything else.

How do I go about choosing between JNU and DSE for MA Economics?

SR
Salini Roy Posted On : October 18th, 2021
M.A. Economics, Jawaharlal Nehru University (2018)

Both the courses are distinct from one another.

At DSE, they train you rigorously in mathematics. And this is an important part of your journey but that is about the only part DSE focuses on. Economic theory at DSE will give you an edge over a lot of other institutions and get your foot in the door inside a lot of big names in finance.

Now coming to JNU, they don’t give a lot of emphasis on Maths but they make sure you read a lot more than you will read at DSE. This means you build a well-rounded view of the world and how economies function. This is a good thing as it will help you very much in mainstream research and things like journalism where you need to know a lot of things.

Also, at JNU reading thoroughly is a part of the curriculum which is not the same in DSE. With the curriculum at JNU, you will discover different schools of thought and learn to think for yourself.

Overall, choosing JNU will be better.

What is the admission procedure in Loyola College?

RA
Rewa Arora Posted On : October 4th, 2021
Studies Humanities and Social Services at Loyola College,2022

The admission procedure followed at Loyola College is quite simple, unlike many other institutes. Here is how it can be bifurcated,

  1. You are supposed to apply on an online portal for the course that you want to pursue.
  2. There will be a brief mention of an online application portal which Loyola College often declares following the HSC results.
  3. Afterward, select the course and provide all the necessary details questioned by the college.
  4. If you are shortlisted, you will receive a mail, SMS, or a simple call letter to the respective address given earlier in the application.

On contrary to that, if you apply for a PG course, then you will have to follow a few additional steps to continue the admission procedure, such as an entrance exam or a brief interview session, as per what will be announced by the administration.

How is the M.Tech placement in SVNIT?

RK
Ravindra Kumar Posted On : January 3rd, 2024
Studied at Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology, Surat (2019)

SVNIT witnesses decent M.Tech placements. But for someone who wishes to work as a teacher, there are good options. This is because a large number of colleges and coaching institutes visit the campus for recruitment. The companies look for a certain specialization, in accordance with the job requirements.

Intel and Marvell Semiconductor visit the campus seeking VLSI, Communication systems and Computer Science students. They do not make direct recruitments. Instead, they hire students as interns and then later offer them PPOs.

Bombardier, Qualcomm and General Electric hire from M.Tech Electrical. L & T hires Civil and Mechanical students, and WSP hires Civil students. Akash institute, Base and WiFi visit for teaching recruitments.

M.Tech placements are average at even the IITs. I would recommend you look for off-campus placements as well.

How is the coding culture at NIT Silchar? Is it worth joining CSE in NIT Silchar?

AB
Akriti Banerjee Posted On : August 24th, 2023
lives in New Delhi

If you are passionate about coding and want a profession in this domain, NIT Silchar is the right place for you-

  1. Computer Science Society- CSS at NIT Silchar is the most active society of the institute. As a member of this society, your coding skills will be enhanced. CSS conducts coding classes for all CSE students. So if you don’t know programming yet, they will teach you the basics before the start of actual classes. By the second semester, you will be way better at coding than your peers in other branches. CSS also arranges coding classes by Oracle and other well-known companies.
  2. Coding Club- Unlike CSS, the coding club is open to students from all branches. It conducts regular classes after college hours. You’ll be taught Data Structures during the first year. These classes are absolutely free of cost.
  3. Coding Competitions- NIT Silchar regularly organizes web development competitions, coding competitions, and other fun events on campus. You’ll be encouraged to take part in these.
  4. Faculty- The CSE faculty teaches well. They will show interest in your caliber, your coding skills, etc.
  5. Seniors- The seniors of CSE branch are really helpful and supportive.

Even if you don’t know much about programming, NITS will make you fall in love with it. The CSE department is absolutely great over there.

What is the average package of the IIT BHU electrical? Is it a good choice at an AIR of 2145 in the JEE Advanced?

PG
Prajukta Ghose Posted On : June 15th, 2023
Studied at the Indian Institute of Technology Varanasi

IIT BHU Electrical's average package is around INR 26 LPA. The department observes a decent placement scenario with more than 98% of students getting placed every year. Out of these, 85% are placed in the non-coding sector. The institute does not release official data on branch-wise placements so I collected data from unofficial sources. Based on that, the highest salary package offered was around INR 66 LPA, the lowest was around 14 LPA, and the average was 26 LPA.

Top recruiters who recruited Electrical students are Microsoft, Amazon, Gravitron, BNY Mellon, etc. Some of the top roles offered are SDE, HFT, quantum computing, and data analysis. Almost all students got internships. My friend got an internship at Samsung, Delhi for 2 months.

As for the IIT BHU Electrical cutoff, it has been tabulated below

MS (CSE) program offered at IIT Madras is strongly inclined towards research and has minimal coursework, unlike MTech.

The shortlisting process includes two steps;

  • Written test based on GATE and Undergraduate scores
  • Shortlisted for an interview based on a written test.

Thus the program is worth going for and has better placements than MTech today.

What are the passing criteria for in the AKTU semester?

SG
Shashank Gupta Posted On : February 27th, 2023
Former Project Engineer at Indian Oil Corporation Limited

AKTU passing criteria in a semester is

  • 30 out of 100
  • 15 out of 50

This is only for the external exams.

For internal exams, you need to score more than 30 out of 50. If you happen to have a back in any subject of 100 marks or 50 marks then you will get grace marks of 10 and 5 respectively. However, this accounts for the whole year and not just a single semester.
