How do I apply for a foreign language course in DU?

S
Saloni Posted On : October 10th, 2022
Bsc.(H)Mathematics from Lady Shri Ram College for Women

Admission to foreign language courses at Delhi University is relatively simple. You must investigate which colleges offer such courses and which languages are available. You should make a list of colleges that you will be comfortable in based on your requirements and the faculty.

Once you have a list, go to each college's website and look for all of the information there. The date of form distribution, the application deadline, the fee structure, time slots, and other pertinent information.

You can fill out the form online and then keep checking the site for the list. Once the list is published, you must check your name to see if it is on it, and if it is, you must go to the respective college with all of your documents in hard copy. They'll check your documents, and if everything checks out, you'll be seated.

After you've been admitted, you must pay the fees online within a certain number of days. Following payment, you will receive an email confirming your registration as a language student.

The forms are usually available in June and July, and there is a minimum fee for the form.

How is Symbiosis College of Arts and Commerce for BA Economics (Honours)?

PS
Preeti Singh Posted On : November 26th, 2021
BA (hons) English Literature, Symbiosis College of Arts and Commerce (2017)

BA Economics Honours in Symbiosis College of Arts and Commerce is not a UGC recognized degree.

In your 1st year if you score a 60% in all the subjects, then only you are offered an Honours degree in the 2nd year.

Economics, unlike other subjects, is very much in demand, so you can expect a lot of competition. The faculty members of this department are also well experienced. You will get to familiarize yourself with the course structure. Overall the college provides a peaceful environment.

Though keep in mind that the Honours degree is provided by the college but the main degree is given by SPPU. Nothe that before registration.

Is there a semester system in IGNOU for BA courses?

AK
Anil Karki Posted On : October 28th, 2022
MCom in Economics and Accounting from Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) (Graduated 2015)

No, there is no semester system in IGNOU for BA courses. In IGNOU students are enrolled in two cycles (January and June). The submission of assignments and TEE (Term End Examination) is scheduled once a year.

Although assignments can be submitted only once a year, there is a high chance that if you fail to appear in May or December TEE, you can appear for that particular subject on another cycle.

For example, you enrolled in this course in 2021. If you wish to appear for June 2022 TEE, you are required to submit the assignments by March 30 2022. If you fail to appear or pass the TEE, you can appear for the same exam in December 2022.

DN
Dhruv Nainwal Posted On : October 31st, 2022
MA in Psychology Indira Gandhi National Open university (IGNOU) (Graduated 2019)

The level of difficulty of a program depends on your passion mostly. If you are passionate about learning then an MA in psychology from IGNOU is not that difficult. You can even work while pursuing a Masters.

Firstly attend all classes and complete all practicals. You will be guided by facilitators throughout. This will help you at the time of examinations. Also, the study material provided by IGNOU is very easy so I don’t think overall it will be a difficult ride.

How easy is the entrance examination conducted by EFLU Hyderabad for getting into English Hons.?

PS
Prabhas Sengupta Posted On : July 16th, 2021
Studied at English and Foreign Languages University (2018)

The entrance examination conducted by EFLU Hyderabad is not easy for English Honours because there are more than 20 centers where this test takes place.

There are certain reservations as well which add up to 50% of all the seats. Even if we don’t consider these numbers, the level of competition will be a real challenge. Also, it is not called BA honors, it is just BA English.

One great advantage that you have is that you get to learn a foreign language consecutively for two years. The language that you opt for depends on the merit scored by you in the entrance exam. Spanish and French are usually in good demand. The admission process for this year has been completed.

This is not to discourage the students from taking admission but it is important to state the facts. Campuses at Lucknow and Shillong also offer such courses where competition is relatively less. You cannot transfer from one campus to another.

If you prepare according to the previous years’ question papers and have a good command of English, then it is not that difficult to get into EFLU.
