IGNOU Bachelor of Arts (BAG) covers a number of disciplines and courses from different schools of study. This program has 132 credits and consists the following categories.

  • Core Courses (CCs)
  • Discipline Specific Electives (DSEs)
  • Ability Enhancement Courses (AECCs)
  • Skill Enhancement Courses (SECs)
  • Generic Electives (GEs)

There are two semesters in the first year. Each semester includes 22 credits. For first-year, IGNOU BAG syllabus is as follows. 

1st semester  Core Courses -  English/Hindi/Indian Languages 1, Discipline 1 Core-A, Discipline 2 Core -B

No, Presidency University (Kolkata) admission 2022 for BA (English) isn’t done. The admission notification and application form will be released around the first week of June 2022, tentatively. The entrance test is most likely to take place during July. You will find the regular updates regarding admission on the official website of Presidency University, i.e. presiuniv.ac.in.

    • BA(Political Science/Public Administration/Sociology…etc.) is a theoretical course where there is minimal exposure given to students towards practical aspects of functioning of government, active participation in policy making and research or preparation for UPSC competitive examination.
