What are the UG course offered by JNU?
At the undergraduate level, JNU only offers courses in Foreign languages. These courses include Persian, Pashto, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Arabic, Russian, French, Spanish, German, etc. If you have done a diploma of one year or more in these subjects then you will be able to directly join the second year of BA Hons.
I want to pursue an M.A. in geography at JNU next year. How can I crack its entrance exam?
If you are interested in Geography and have basic knowledge, it is not difficult to get admission at JNU. The syllabus for the entrance test is the same as that of undergraduate (Hons) in Geography. You can go through the syllabus on the website along with the question papers from the previous years too. It will help you understand how to prepare for the entrance test.
The entrance test consists of 100 marks with objective multiple-choice questions (MCQs). Do not try to attempt all questions. Rather focus on accuracy. Take a calculated risk and try to attempt 80-88% of questions correctly.

- Delhi School of Economics will teach mathematically to understand the contemporary style of economics. This will help you try for a Ph.D. abroad.
- JNUs teachings are much simpler and theories with less mathematical writing. If you want to sit for UPSC exams, JNU is really a good option.
Therefore, you need to choose wisely, pursuing Ph.D. would only be good if you receive a good piece of advice from your professors or someone who has appropriate experience.
Which is best for an MCA, JNU or NIT Surathkal?

- Students need 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA in BSc/BCA/BIT or BE/BTech to be eligible for MCA admission.
- The selection of MCA is through NIMCET scores.
Placements:
The institute has an excellent placement record which is highly accomplished and well-placed alumni serving both within the country and abroad.
- During 2018 – 2019, 75% of students were placed with the highest package was 18 LPA, the lowest package was 3.5 LPA and the average package was 8 LPA.

Is JNU better for MSc in physics than the new IITs (like Hyderabad, Bhubaneswar etc.)?
Among these, JNU is a better option for doing an MSc in Physics. It constantly ranks among the top universities in India. The academics and faculties at JNU are top-notch. Compared to IITs the course fee at JNU is way lower. The required fee for M.Sc Physics is only INR 692. Due to the locational advantage of JNU, it’s easier to get placements and internship opportunities.
I want to pursue a master's in economics. Which one should I choose: Delhi School of Economics, JNU, Indian Statistical Institute, Paris-Sorbonne University or University of Munich?
All of these institutes are excellent choices for a masters in Economics. If you want to study Quantitative and Mathematical Economics, then ISI will be the best option among these. ISI Kolkata placements are pretty good. Students get recruited as Data scientists, Financial Analysts, Risk Analysts, and other similar positions. You will get good scopes for higher studies as well.
DSE is an excellent option for Economics masters. It offers good placements. Recent highlights of DSE placements show the average CTC for MA Economics is around INR 5 LPA. But the institute has a huge batch size.
Paris Sorbonne University and University of Munich are excellent options as well. These institutes are especially good for research.
Can someone guess what is the stark difference between IIT Kharagpur and JNU?
If you are asking about the most distinguishing feature between JNU and IIT Kharagpur then it is the fact that JNU is an Arts institute whereas IIT Kharagpur is a Science and Technology institute.
The students at IIT Kharagpur focus on technology and how to implement it for the benefit of the country. They focus on their own academics and try to bring about scientific developments in society rather than focusing on political issues. The same is the case with the professors at IIT KGP. I have 49.9%marks in BSc.(cs) .is it possible to get admission for MCA in jnu
Applicants can check the eligibility criteria for JNUEE MCA below:
- Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in any discipline
- Candidates should have adequate competence in Mathematics
- Their pattern of Education should have been 10+2+3 pattern
- Candidates must have a minimum of 55% in Bachelor's degree.
According to the eligibility criteria, the minimum marks for the qualifying degree should not be less than the aggregate of 55% marks for all unreserved category candidates. For OBC-NCL there is a 10% marks relaxation and for SC/ST/PWD candidates, the minimum pass mark is required. Also, there is no age limit to apply for this course. Looking at your profile and your graduation score of 49.9% does not seem very promising as it does not align with the required criteria. So unless you belong to a reserved category, it is almost impossible for you to get admission to JNU for MCA.
