Initially, during its inception, the campus was run through two transit camps in the city of Bhubaneswar, but now the campus is fully functioning at the new permanent campus at Argul. The new campus is situated 35km from the airport and 8kms from the nearest railway station. The auditorium and the lecture hall complex are currently under construction.

Whereas, in IIT Bhubaneswar CSE department had 100% placement with an average of 11.44 LPA.

Therefore, considering all the factors at the moment IIT Dhanbad will be the better option than IIT Bhubaneswar for CSE. However, the speed at which IIT Bhubaneswar is growing it can also be considered as an alternative.
