Yes, my brother had taken admitted to IIT Guwahati as he was a nature lover and its campus suited him best. Life here is full of adventures and new discoveries. This is the best campus life you can explore.

Most academic centers and buildings are surrounded by hills that add to the scenic view. You can bring your family here and make them feel proud of you. Alcheringa is one of the best cultural fests in the country.

At IIT Guwahati, you will see every festival is celebrated with equal enthusiasm. Irrespective of your cultural background, you will get to explore every religion and culture. IIT Guwahati has a great appreciation culture and awards Ana’s recognitions are in plenty. The talents and skills of students are recognized by the institute and honored.

If you are feeling low and want a break from the rush hour, you can just sit and relax on the benches near these campus lakes.

Tea and coffee help you survive the difficult exam phase. The campus is home to many beautiful birds from far away. I will highly recommend you wake up early at least once and go for a morning walk. It will definitely be a life-changing experience!

What is criteria for taking minor at IIT Kharagpur?

SG
Senjuti Gupta Posted On : March 23rd, 2023
studied at IIT Kgp

Applying for a minor is possible only at the beginning of the 3rd year autumn semester provided that your CGPA is 7.5+. But I suggest you start taking courses related to your minor from the 2nd year autumn semester itself.

  • Make sure your CGPA is 8+ by the end of each semester, else your minor will be canceled.
  • On the basis of the requirements given in the minor curriculum list, make a good choice of courses.
  • You can change your departmental elective by approaching your faculty advisor for the same. He/she will login to his/her ERP and add the desired subject to your list.
  • One needs to take at least additional 3 or 4 courses to earn a minor in another department.
  • You are required to maintain your ACGPA (additional CGPA) as well as CGPA (additional SGPA) 6+ once you have registered for minors.

Plan your semesters in such a way that you have available slots for that specific subject.

Is it good to get admission in NIET for an MBA?

SD
Soumita Dasgupta Posted On : May 26th, 2021
MBA from IIM Calcutta

NIET, Greater Noida is mainly known for its Engineering courses and has very recently started an MBA course as well. MBA courses need a different approach in terms of academics. An MBA or PGDM course needs to advance with several case studies to analyze a particular situation and what could possibly be the reasonable outcome for the same.

One of my cousins, since he studied in NIET, has briefed me about his experience. There are several reasons why you may not want to take admission in NIET, Greater Noida.

  • NIET, Greater Noida is not supposedly going to supply you with various good case studies. In fact, there hadn’t been much at all.
  • Sadly, their primary goal is to only provide you the very basic knowledge and help you further to obtain a degree.
  • Additionally, there are not many companies that actually visit the campus for placement offers. Before asking the management, you can run a check by asking the students who passed out from NIET.
  • The infrastructure of the college is not quite the best and there has been no record of extracurricular activities. While to say, extracurricular activities are nonetheless one major part of any MBA course structure.
  • Other than that, if you possibly want to pursue a career in MBA within 2 to 3 Lacs for a whole course and curriculum, then you can opt for Galgotias, Greater Noida, or ABES, Ghaziabad.

Even for BTech, NIET has not been able to give good placement offers. So, consider all these factors before deciding.

Which is better, AIIMS Jodhpur or KGMU Lucknow?

Namrata Das Posted On : September 25th, 2023

KGMU has always been a very attractive option for medical aspirants.

It has a good infrastructure and reputation. It is considered as the best medical college in UP. I don’t have much idea about AIIMS Jodhpur, but it is considered the best after Delhi. Personally though, I consider AIIMS Rishikesh a better choice due to its pleasant location.

Recently, the UP government has passed a compulsory bond for UGs and PGs. It is a compulsory 2 years rural posting bond. This is a huge drawback in choosing KGMU Lucknow. The rural posting will be a difficult time, and you won’t learn much from it. There are safety concerns as well.

For your MBBS, you should choose between the two based on personal preference. But I would recommend you go for AIIMS Jodhpur.

I have poor graduation percentage, should I apply for JBIMS?

AM
Aniket Mitra Posted On : February 21st, 2023
Studied Finance at Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies

Graduation scores do carry a weightage during admissions at JBIMS but a very minor one. They are not the main criteria to focus on. CET is the most important factor that needs full attention. The candidate's profile is rated on various parameters.

Parameters

Weightage

CAT/MH-CET/ CMAT Score

60

PAR (10th, 12th and Bachelor Marks)

15

Extra-curricular/Work Experience

20

Diversity

5

Total

100

The institute also considers past academic records for computation of Application Rating Score(AR). The cutoff for PAR is as follows:

10th: 60% or above

12th: 60% or above

As you can see little or no weightage is given to Graduation scores. So don’t let your low marks dishearten and discourage you. Rather focus on your CAT/CET.
