As a current student of IIT Indore, I must tell you that the fests at IIT Indore are really vibrant and energetic. We recently attended the 18th edition of Fluxus Fest in March 2024. It is the annual techno-cultural fest at IIT Indore.

Apart from performances from popular artists like Pineapple Express, Sachin Jigar, etc, the fest also provided a platform for students to present their skills, share ideas, and commemorate the spirit of creativity. We also enjoyed good food from prominent food partners like McDonald's, Domino’s, Hide Out, etc.

The best part about the IIT Indore mathematics department is that they have recently started offering a BTech program in Mathematics and Computing, from 2023 onwards. This programme is specifically intended for undergraduates who have a strong interest in computers and mathematics.

As of the academic year 2023, several IIT Indore Mathematics graduates have secured PhD positions in top universities like the University of South Florida, IIT Delhi, NISER, State University of New York, etc.

The Learning Resource Centre of IIT Indore is fully equipped with E-Learning Resources. The central library at ISM Dhanbad is the heart of our college. It provides valuable academic and research material to the students of all departments. The central library is located behind the administrative block, adjacent to the main canteen of ISM. The faculty members, research scholars, staff members, and students of ISM Dhanbad can avail the library facility. The operations of the entire central library are based on the integrated library management software.

Branch change at IIT Kanpur is possible, but difficult. The possibility of a switch depends on the academic performance of a student and the availability of seats in the desired branch. 

Those who perform really well in their 1st year can expect a branch change. Most of the seats at top IITs are filled during admissions (especially the top branches), so the seats do not remain vacant in the students’ desired branches. 

Branch change at IIT Kanpur is based on the Cumulative Power Index (CPI) cutoff. For example, to change one’s branch to Computer Science Engineering one must have a CPI of 9.5 and above. Similarity for Electrical engineering, around 9.4 CPI is required, and for Mechanical Engineering at least 8.9 CPI must be obtained during 1st year. 

For branch change at IIT Kanpur, one must complete a manual registration. Those who wish to change the branch can collect the registration form from the lecture hall- L8. One must then fill the form correctly and get the signatures from all the instructors, signature of the convener and DUGC (Department of Undergraduate Committee), and submit the form in L8 itself.
