Who is the worst faculty at Vasavi College of Engineering?

AD
Arunika Dutt Posted On : August 20th, 2021
B.E from Vasavi College of Engineering (2019)

None of the faculty can be characterized as the best and worst. Teaching as a profession is not taken up by professors who would go down the lane to be known as the worst faculty.

However, there might be some faculty members who would inspire you, who would push you to venture into new fields of skills, some might even bore you with their lectures and you might even come across some strict ones. It is all just the pressure of standing on the podium to impart knowledge to the students on a large scale.

Moreover, college is to learn new skills and make use of the available facilities and experiences provided by the faculty as per one’s requirements.

Vasavi College of Engineering has some of the best faculty. They are highly educated and experienced. Ramana Murthy Sir (Mech HOD/ Principal), AV Rao Sir, Ram Mohan Rao Sir, Veladri Sir, Venkataiah Sir, Sudhakar Sir are a few names of the members of a tremendous faculty.

How is processor "Shakti"by IIT Madras different from that of Intel and ARM?

SR
Sayantan Ray Posted On : July 22nd, 2021
Indian Institute of Technology, Madras (2018)

As far as my knowledge goes, this is probably not the same. From what most people know, ARM is an old RISC processor. X86 is the older scaled-down version and as far as Shakti is concerned, it is a RISC-V processor which is a later version of the ARM (Acorn’s RISC Machine). It also follows the same concepts.

This probably means that if you are planning to do something new with Shakti, it would not have the outdated RISC label to it.

Talking solely about Shakti, it is mostly used as an exercise to demonstrate its ability to do design work and build processors in our country. The bar set here is quite low. They should make Silicon like the one at TSMC and that would probably have a much more lasting impact. This will possibly take some time but they will be there soon.

Is IMI Delhi a good college looking at all aspects like exposure, teaching, placements, etc.?

KB
Kordela Baig Posted On : August 17th, 2020
PGDM from IMI Delhi (2020)

IMI Delhiis India’s first corporate-sponsored Business Schoolby large corporates like the RPG Group, ITC, Nestle, SAIL, etc. It has been ranked 11th overall and 7th among the top 10 private B-School by Outlook. The model ensures that the student gets enough Industry exposure. The institute has a location-wise benefit as it is situated at the heart of Delhi which houses many corporate giants.

  • Faculty:IMI Delhi has one of the best faculties for business education in our country, on the same level as the IIM’s. The pedagogy of IMI is also similar to that of IIMs i.e. based on case studies and peer learning.
  • Selection Criteria: Itis quite stringent, thereby filtering the best minds in the country to the institute. This enables the students to collectively benefit through the process of peer learning guided by the amazing faculties. Students are shortlisted for admission based on their CAT/XAT/CMAT/MAT/ATMA/GMAT scores. The final selection is done based on Academic Performance, Performance in Extempore Speaking, Psychometric Test, Essay Writing, and Personal Interview.
  • Infrastructure:It is one backdrop on the campus; the campus is small and doesn’t have much space for expansion.
  • Placements:The batch strength of the students is small, so students get good opportunities in placements. Top brands like Citi Bank, Goldman Sachs, Citi Bank, Axis Bank, Google, Salesforce, Airtel, Nestle, RB, etc. hire from the campus. The average salary of IMI Delhi is on par with the newer IIM’s, but since the fees of the college are not very high, it provides a good ROI. The students get placed with average salaries of around 13.07 LPA while the highest CTC is around 20 LPA.

Who is the best professor at IIM Ahmedabad?

AB
Arkaprava Banerjee Posted On : March 14th, 2022
MBA from Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (2020)

I have a few friends who graduated from IIM Ahmedabad. Most of them used to gush about the teaching methodology of Professor Saral Banerjee.  He is an expert in Operations Management. But his skills and knowledge aren’t limited to a single discipline. You will scarcely come across a better definition of strategy than the one proposed by him, “Strategy is all about closing doors.” His way of explaining the facts of management through the Elephant, Cheetah, and Tortoise story makes a lifelong impression.

How is Gautam Buddha University Noida in terms of faculty, placements, hostel, students, etc.?

RG
Rishi Goel Posted On : December 23rd, 2021
BTech+MTech Computer Science, Gautam Buddha University (2022)

Gautam Buddha University, Noida is a State Government University with a huge campus in Greater Noida.

Faculty:

  • Faculties were from renowned institutes like JNU, NITs and even some held degrees from abroad.
  • If there is a lack of faculties, a guest lecturer is arranged for the students.

Hostel:

  • Students were allotted single rooms with washrooms on sharing basis wing wise.
  • The hostels have Gym, Table Tennis, carrom, etc.
  • There is availability of daily newspapers and magazines.
  • There is a sports complex with state of the art facilities.
  • The Hostels have been provided with LAN cables to have internet connectivity.

Placements:

  • The placements were not good, but gradually it has improved.
  • Now popular companies like TCS and IBM conduct mass recruitment, which ends up offering to almost all the students.

Overall the college is really good and appreciated  by the students. The infrastructure is gorgeous, much better than some of the IITs and NITs. Lately it has been deteriorating with time due to the lack of maintenance, care, supervision and funds. A lot of the college students are into student politics which sometimes affect their academic performance.

Who are the best professors at IIT Madras?

AS
Ayushi Sehgal Posted On : February 3rd, 2024

Even though he has retired from IIT Madras, I would like to name V. Balakrishnan sir from the Physics Department as the answer to this question. He is one of the most respected faculty members of all time at IIT Madras.

Sir’s knowledge of Physics is unparalleled. It is absolutely stunning how he used to link the seemingly disparate aspects of the natural world. You can watch his lectures on Classical Mechanics on NPTEL and Youtube. Sir acknowledged and answered the queries of all his students. Not only that, he took those simple questions and slightly modified them, thus leading his students to understand deep and profound concepts.

Sir’s classes ignited new thoughts in his students’ minds, and led them to those answers which they never realized they needed. No one wanted to miss any of his classes, which speaks volumes about his teaching.

How are the professors at IISC Bangalore? Do they judge you when you ask them questions? Do they cut your marks in internals if you ask them tough questions?

PP
Pratik Parikh Posted On : July 12th, 2023
Lives in Bangalore

The professors here are really approachable and friendly. Let me narrate a few incidents that will convince you

  • A professor I know sets very tricky questions and on one such exam when the students were busy attempting the challenging paper, he along with some assistants started serving refreshments to the students. Later on, I found out that the assistant was a GOLD medallist from EPFL yet his humbleness overtook his knowledge.
  • You will be attending the seminars along with your professors who are always eager to learn new things. Despite being degree holders and having huge qualifications their humble attitude towards learning instills a sense of positivity in the students.
  • What amazes me the most were instances when some professors failed to answer certain questions in the class, and then they got back to you through emails with a properly researched answer. In fact, some professors even stayed throughout the night with their students in labs figuring out answers.
  • Their dedication level is extremely high as sometimes professors attend seminars even when it’s raining and they are drenched in the way.
  • The professors value every second and once I saw a professor eat a dry bun and a fruity just to save time.

Trust me, being a part of the IISc family will be the most enlightening experience you will ever have.

It is guaranteed that the study material provided by IGNOU is excellent. You'll have a great time going through them. It will undoubtedly provide you with a thorough understanding of the subject. However, it is not without difficulty. You get to work hard. If you want to study Economics via distance education, IGNOU is your best bet.

However, pursuing it at a regular university in a face-to-face mode may be preferable because teachers can assist you with your difficulties. However, if you are already employed, MA in Economics from IGNOU is an excellent choice.

What department in MNNIT Allahabad has the best faculty?

RB
Ramesh Banerjee Posted On : April 29th, 2021
Studied at Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology, Allahabad (2019)

Mechanical Engineering Department in MNNIT has the best faculties. However, the following are the reasons for this consideration.

  • Professors of this department are mostly highly qualified. However, a majority of them have done Ph.D., on the contrary of CSED.
  • Besides, the professors from the Mechanical Department of MNNIT are also well-experienced.
  • Most of them have a research profile, which influences the student’s mind towards the research-based work and study. They are also very helpful; if you want to pursue a research-oriented study, they welcome it from the heart.

Moreover, the most dissatisfactory thing about this department is the lack of cheering the students. My friend told me that he never saw anyone from his batch work on a research-based project or doing any further research-related studies.
