A B.Com from IGNOU is budget-friendly and has a flexible schedule. This degree will be accepted for any further admission too. It is a great option if you want to pursue the course along with a job or other full-time course.

Which open university is better among IGNOU and Nalanda Open University for a BA in economics Honors?
IGNOU BA Economics (Hons) is better. The course structure is more flexible. Study materials are offered in both English and Hindi. You will get more time to clear your pending courses without paying additional fees. You can change the study center and examination center according to your convenience.
Whereas Nalanda Open University study centers are in Bihar only. The Patna center is usually the venue for examination. The course materials of NOU are mostly in Hindi.
Which is better for distant learning Assam University or IGNOU?

Is someone with an MA in psychology from IGNOU, eligible for RCI registration?
No, but you are eligible to get admission at RCI recognized institutes. If you have done an MA in Psychology from IGNOU, you will need to do an M.Phil or a Ph.D. from an RCI affiliated University or hospital, to get RCI registration. You can apply for RCI registration after completing the M.Phil or Ph.D.
What is the value of a B. Ed degree from IGNOU?
A B.Ed from IGNOU has a similar value to a B.Ed through regular mode. The coursework is almost as taxing as a regular B.Ed. As for recruitment, your teaching skills will matter more than your institution. You can apply for private schools and Govt. jobs. You can get also get a job easily by contacting the IGNOU campus placement cell (CPC). You can get recruited in any IGNOU Regional Center (RC) or Study Centre (SC).
Is a BCom (A & F) from IGNOU eligible for pursuing CFA?
Yes, a BCom (A&F)degree from IGNOU is eligible for pursuing CFA. A bachelor's degree with UGC accreditation is considered eligible for level 1 examination. CFA University doesn’t have a list of approved universities.
You can go for CFA course if you are in your final year. There’s a provision that your graduation years and experience in Finance combined should be at least equal to four years. If you are not a graduate but you have four years of work experience in Core Finance, you can go for CFA course as well.
Is an IGNOU degree acceptable for IIM?
Yes, IGNOU degrees are acceptable by IIM. All bachelor's degrees offered by IGNOU are recognized by DEC, UGC, and AICTE. So, if you have completed BA, BSc, or BCom from IGNOU, you will be eligible for CAT.
Note that, your degree from IGNOU should be a bachelor's or higher. Certificate or Diploma courses aren’t accepted. Since CAT eligibility criteria clearly state, applicants need to have a bachelor's degree or equivalent.
Can we get direct second year admission to BA (Bachelor of Arts) in IDOL, YCMOU or IGNOU after passing a three-year civil engineering diploma?
No, it’s not possible to take lateral admission in a BA degree after completing a Civil Engineering diploma, in IDOL, YCMOU, or IGNOU. These two degrees are fundamentally different. You can get admission to BA after completing the course. But direct entry to second year isn’t possible.
IGNOU offers direct admission to some of its degree programs. For example, if you have done your BCA from IGNOU, you can join their 2 year MCA program through lateral admission. So, IGNOU lateral entry has fixed eligibility criteria. You won’t be eligible for direct admission to second year in IGNOU MCA if you completed your BCA from any other university.
What facilities does an IGNOU distance MBA provide as compared to NMIMS or Symbiosis?
All three of these are good for pursuing a distance MBA. However, IGNOU examination centers are more in number compared to NMIMS and Symbiosis. You can attend contact classes and get guidance regarding studies easily at a convenient place near you. IGNOU offers multiple specializations. The course fees are affordable. It offers good learning resources as well. Every study center of IGNOU has its own library.

How should I prepare for B.Com A&F (IGNOU)?
First and foremost, you will be eligible to sit for the BCOM(A&F) term-end examination only if you submit assignments relevant to your course. To do so, you must first download the assignment question papers from the IGNOU portal online or visit the regional centre, where they will provide you with the question papers offline, and then write the answers for those assignments and submit them at the applicable study centre you selected during your course registration. Obtain an acknowledgement copy of the submission status and check the submission status online on a regular basis.
If you have passed your CA- CPT (foundation) and CA- IPCC (intermediate), you will be exempt from writing a few subjects.
The application process for examinations can be done online or offline. Your examination application will only be processed if your assignment submission status is updated online.
If you are applying offline, you must obtain a copy of the application printout or purchase it from the IGNOU office, complete it, and have it signed by study centre personnel before mailing it to the regional centre corresponding to your exam centre of choice, along with a DD for the desired examination fee as prescribed.
In terms of preparation, you should focus on your upcoming CA final exams first, and then immediately begin working on your BCOM exam preparation. IGNOU's study material is more than adequate, and it attempts to cover all of the volumes contained within it.
Furthermore, you can download previous years' question papers from the IGNOU portal (minimum up to three attempts suggested and maximum depending on time available) and try to answer those questions accordingly.
