If you want to join the Govt. sector, you can join PSUs, through the GATE examination. But you won’t get govt. Jobs through campus placement.

Yes, GATE score is valid for 3 years. Around 35% weightage is assigned to the GATE score for NITIE selection.
NITIE Mumbai offers a doctoral-level fellowship program. Recognized by the Ministry of HRD, this program is equivalent to a Ph.D. of any Indian Institute.
NITIE Fellow program is interdisciplinary in nature and covers different facets of industrial, business, and social issues. Finance, Marketing, Economics, Operation Management, Organizational Behaviour, Sustainability, Corporate Social Responsibility & Ethics are some of the specializations of the fellow program.
There are two types of Fellow program admission, i.e. regular full-time candidates and sponsored candidates. Regular full-time candidates with valid GATE or NET JRF scores get financial assistance from the institute.
The course work for the first year is the same for all departments except three steam-specific courses. During the second semester of the program, the institute will assign you a guide as per the research proposal that you will submit during the time of admission.

The required GATE cutoff varies each year. NITIE Mumbai GATE cutoff 2021 was 609 for general category students. A GATE score of in the 600-700 band is considered to be safe.
The second step of the selection process is GD-PI. This round depends on your profile and the way you will drive the interview. The institute assigns some weightage to the profile of the students for selection as well. But the percentage isn’t disclosed.
NITIE admission process consists of two rounds, i.e. GD and PI. The institute shortlists students based on their GATE score for the GD-PI round. According to the 2022 placement report, NITIE offers an average CTC of around INR 25.49 LPA. The highest CTC was INR 49 LPA. During 2021 placement drive, the average CTC was INR 19.5 LPA. Other than placements students also got internship offers. The average stipend was INR 1.53 lakhs.
According to the statistics of last few years, NITIE Mumbai placement scenario is pretty good. Thanks to the location of the institute as well as the industry recognition, NITIE attracts many recruiting companies. Amazon, KPMG, Deloitte are some of the companies that frequently visit.
The 2022 batch had a 100% placement average. The average and highest CTC received by the students this year was INR 25.41 LPA and INR 49 LPA.
NITIE Mumbai GATE cutoff stays around 650. For 2021 the required GATE cutoff was 609 (for general category).
A score of around 750 is considered good for getting an interview call from the institute. However, converting the call into admission is a different story altogether. For final selection, the institute also considers past academics, work experience, and performance in GD-PI.
