I have friends from both Heritage Institute of Technology Kolkata and Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Technology Delhi and based on the conversations that I had with them, I will say the former is a better choice for a CSE degree.
According to my friends, you will find that after enrolling in Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Technology, all you'll have to do is show up for sessionals and assignments. You must attend lessons or else the HOD will contact your parents. However, this opinion varies from person to person.
Here is a brief comparison of the two institutes.

My friend was in a similar dilemma and ended up giving up Thapar University because his parents were disappointed he did not make it to IITs. He applied everywhere else and went for IPU MAIT instead. His best friend applied to Thapar and got selected in Mechanical.
Recently, his friend told him about the placement scenario there and how excellent the CSE placements were. He headlined that he would have been able to get a huge package of 15 LPA had he gone to Thapar University. The situation at MAIT was not very good and it was difficult even to get a package around 10 LPA.
He regrets giving up Thapar for MAIT, so don't repeat his mistake and go for Thapar without any second thoughts!
